Looks like there's an easy way to improve the vertical bar seen on some SNES versions:
http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/sh ... d-easy-fix

Haven't had time to try it yet.

Great, I am gonna try that as well!

I have a VGA regarding question. Is there a loss in quality when using only a splitter cable of I use short cables? I want to connect the DC and the X360 to the SLG 3000 and connect the SLG to a tate and a yoko lcd. So basically a splitter before and after the slg would do the trick if there is no loss of quality. Otherwise I would need a vga switch inbetween....

VGA splitters are powered so no. Be aware that not all VGA splitters will handle 15khz modes though.

I see, thank you. Does the SLG work with 720p on xbox 360?

Shouldn't this be in the SLG3000 thread? It works but scanlines are not properly aligned. It can still look okay on some games (I used it on Sonic CD and Scott Pilgrim for a time).

Hi guys.

I'm having issues with my mini. I have an RGB modded US N64 - brilliant picture through the mini when it works (with RGB cable).

My issue is that the screen flashes black between menus/screens in games - this will either last 4 seconds or stay black until I turn the machine back on.

is it the 240p - 480i resolution switch? It's been driving me mad for a long time now.

Help!

P.S. I'm on quite an old firmware (first English one).

Cheers,

Zak.

That sounds like the resoluton switch. You can check which resolution is input, in the info menu on the XRGB.

Not that it should help with your problem, but why haven't you updated the firmware?

Thanks for your reply. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

I only ever used it with a SNES in the past, and it was behaving for me. Even had the wii running on it via component.

I figured it's best not to update unless I had a roblem which a new firmware would fix.

Quick question Zak, is the signal going through any switch?

No switch. However, I am using a Euro to Jap cable.

Here's exactly how I'm connected:

8 pin adapter (which came with mini) -> Jap to Euro Scart cable -> Euro Scart cable -> N64

This is definitely the resolution switch on Jumper Pak games. This is an inherent issue with the Mini and is still a problem even with current firmware. Who knows if it will ever get fixed.

Edit: Just as a confirmation, what game are you playing where this issue is present? Try playing an older game that doesn't require the Jumper Pak?

This happens with older games like Mario 64, Mario Party 1 and Paper Mario.

Just been doing some testing with the XRGB-mini with my Micomsoft XCAPTURE-1 device, and have been noticing some audio crackling popping. You can hear it on this gameplay of ActRasier right at the start and now and again throughout the video......

Any ideas?

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and had a few questions about the Framemeister mini which I just purchased. I've been using it in conjunction with the El Gato HD game capture device to record NES playthrough videoes using composite video.

I've ran into some issues with "pixel shifting" when recording, although they are minor I'd like to know if there is any way to fix these issues.

If you watch one of my videoes, (for instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3-PsM8RDmI) you will notice there are several times when the pixels suddenly "shift" during the recording. For instance, watch seconds 23-25 and 34-36 of the video I linked. The background is stationary, then all of the sudden it "shifts" for a lack of a better term. It only happens (or is at least observable) when there is a stationary background lingering for a while.

When I capture video just using the El gato capture I don't notice the "shifting" so I don't think it's related to that device. I've also noticed that there appears to be "slight image tearing" when I watch the video blown up in full 720p, and it gets worse if I plug the audio in. You can't really notice this from the youtube video but it's obvious when I watch a full-screen capture. Oddly, if I unplug the audio it reduces the "tearing" quite a bit.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you so much.

Cool hopefully they have improved the god awful audio encoding when using Scart in and hdmi out. Guess it's too much to wish for them to have fixed the.....

1080p scanline bug
Add profile settings
Reduce the video sync time when switching video modes

If they have then this device would be 100% perfect!

I'd like them to fix the wierd artifacts I get on 1080p, random coloured pixels here and there.

The new zoom function allows for pretty easy overscan elimination. Scanlines on 720p stay intact, but the alignment with the pixel rows is of course lost.

anyone feels like checking if HDMI now actually is fully passthrough? Is the image indistinguishable from a direct connection? Does the menu still work?

New zoom function sounds really nice.

The rough Google translation on the download page states:
HDMI input without resolution converting the image input from the HDMI input 1 to output in synchronous timing the same as the input

* This function is not a function through. There is a change ("Picture Mode" setting will be reflected) in the color information.
So, if I'm interpreting the rough translation properly, it makes no changes to timing or resolution, but picture settings still apply. So, it doesn't look like a "full" pass-through.

if it runs through the Marvell, then you still get the same color downsampling and the same lag.

I get glitchy artifacts trying to use the HDMI passthrough. Pretty unusable if you ask me.

The zoom function is a pain to use, but together with the V_WIDTH setting it finally allows to zoom away PAL bars perfectly:

That's kinda the point, he's zoomed the PAL version in to eliminate the bars.
