Do you have a name or link for the TV stand shown on the first pictures ? I'm ahead of buying a new TV set and the old one will likely go into permanent tate and I'm not sure yet, if the wall I plan to install it on will support my old set (52").

This is where I bought the stand pieces from:

1) Rotating universal mount itself (no stand, RTM-L)

2) Compatible stand for rotating universal mount (stand, PSD-BW)

Posted this in the supergun topic, but I figure it's appropriate here as well:

Image

The 2-player stick is wired to Neo-Geo standard DB-15 sockets, same as the supergun that is currently connected. I plan to create project boxes to use with other systems as well.

it's only clean when I want to take a picture of it :p

Slightly OT, I hear people recommend buying an arcade monitor and building a case for it. Has anyone actually done this? I can't find pictures or mentions anywhere.

Ugly, but I don't have space for more. I also had a Sony PVM 27" monitor for tate gaming, but it's currently packed away in the cellar.

Thank you. With this setup I get to enjoy the cave shmups on X360 in 240P.

I'm not sure what I'd do if that TV died. There's just nothing comparable available for purchase in my area.

24" monitor and 50" plasma tv

That monitor was the first thing I ever bought for shmups, as I was just starting to get addicted to PS2 emulation (Mushihimesama and Espgaluda)

The TV stand was bought last week, I only set it up 2 days ago...

I put those books there just to be silly. It's the Cave history book and the Touhou spellcard book...

thats what Gaijin Punch has....njiska has one too, although not sure if hes built a box around it.....

it would be super easy to do yourself....get your monitor, build a plywood case around the monitor frame, wire it up with a switch for on/off, wire it into your super gun or make a custom cable to connect it....done!

not as 'sexy' a solution as a cab, but as far as image quality and being arcade spec, you cant get any better!

I know I've seen plenty of setups with a naked arcade monitor on the desk or something. I don't think that would end well for my cat though.

Also, I know if I made a case it would look so ghetto :p

I have a picture in my mind of a case for a monitor that looks as good as the beautifully finished maple cases JUTMAN22 crafts.

Hey, just put it in some sort of plastic container/crate. Preferably with some air holes so your cat won't suffocate.

Of course! All this time I was thinking about how to case up the monitor, when really all I have to do is case up the cat!

GP mentioned a small jp company that cases up monitors. Sent me this link showing off some of their work.

https://sv35.wadax.ne.jp/~mobile-access ... 7_529.html

very simply, yet effective. A bit of stain and a nice bezel would go a long way. Will probably go for something like this with a 19" W&G multisync.

Anyway... let's see some more setups!

I love how they put a CAVE game in one of their demo pictures:

I moved a few months ago and after rearranging the living room several times this is my current arrangement.

My future plans are putting up a false wall so I can put the lcd on a rotating wall mount, along with some led back lighting and a small pair of speakers because the built ins are garbage. My girl puts up with me flipping the tv around, but having it on a mount will be awesome.

Awesome, you've basically answered my question as to whether you can rotate a plasma. What model TV is the plasma? I have the Panasonic TH42PZ85U, which (I hope) should be TATE-able.

Also, what mount did you use for the wall? I'm starting my search for one that supports rotation, so initial recommendations would be great.
Let me say Pepsi Generation

My plasma is a Samsung PL50B650

You can definitely rotate your plasma since it has the same panel as mine 2008 onwards.

I got a mount from ebay.. I forgot the name, but I'm drunk now, it's definitely in some topic I've created.

I'll help you out once I wake up tomorrow =p

Hey guys I posted my old setup last year, but moved into a new place and this is the new deal. Sorry for the crap pics:

I have a murphy bed that came furnished with my little studio apt and decided to turn the attached shelf into the TATE area lol. Video into Extron Emotia/XRGB2+ -> NEC Multisync 77F. Audio into Kenwood reciever/sub and Sigma Raijin for all controls ;)

I made this about a year ago with 18mm MDF (including bezel). It wasn't a difficult build, but I took my time to get the measurements right, so that the monitor frame was a tight fit (helps keep the case rigid). I gave the measurements to the DIY store and they cut the MDF for me, ensuring nice straight edges.

The monitor controls are tucked behind the bezel, which is easily removable but stays in place without any securing mechanism due to being a snug fit (that was more luck than intention). There's a vent in the rear panel to let heat out.
