1P Same! Same! Same! has fallen - and House Toaplan along with it. Game made me incandescent with rage on more than a few occasions, but I finally prevailed.

Arcade?
I've 1cced the Genesis version only, that means, first loop. But I like the game very much

Yes, the arcade game - they fortunately made the MD port infinitely easier, almost got four loops down on Normal in that one. I'm actually considering going back to it now, just for relaxation purposes.

Wow, hot damn man. What stage did you consider the most difficult? No-miss or did you manage a heroic recovery at some point?

Really nicely done, Perikles! How many can say they've cleared every toaplan arcade shooter?

I actually have to thank you, trap15 - both your video earlier this year where you were playing Same! Same! Same! as well as your recent Master of Weapon activity inspired me to bring those two to an end!

I'll upload the video of the run as soon as possible of course, but to give a momentary précis:

- Lost my first life right at the beginning of stage 9 due to an inexplicable second of hesitation for a planned bomb. Died a lot of times afterwards (especially in stage 10), but I practiced the checkpoints insofar as I had a general idea how to make the best out of every life. No recoveries in the conventional sense, more of an attempt to protract the inevitable long enough to last for the loop. I actually had a handful of credits where I died as early as stage 6 and made it to the final checkpoint, it is indeed possible by dint of all the lives. Just try to not die on the eight boss, that's a murderous checkpoint if there ever was one.

- Managed to get to 2-6 just by virtue of spite and bombs!

- Beginning with stage 6, I started to bomb with reckless abandon. My overall plan was to get at least to stage 7 without dying and then beating the rest of the loop with the above-mentioned battle of attrition. By scoring well in the first five stages I should have the necessary resources to do so. Was quite surprised to barely make it past stage 7 which is extremely helpful since one can stock up on bombs at the beginning of stage 8. Having the maximum spread shot also makes this stage enormously easier.

- The hardest stage is definitely the last for me - both in terms of maximum rank and recovery. I can never get the safe spot to work in the beginning and would need at least two or three bombs to make it habitable. I also cannot fend off the massacre afterwards while at the same time dodging two or three green lasers bouncing around. Thus, I learned how to limp over the finish line, the final checkpoint in particular is brutal.

- I had a lot of problems with the seventh stage (the city) for the longest time, but once you know exactly the route of the large planes, it's not so bad anymore. There is also no checkpoint that has a tendency to drain several lives away, unlike the stages afterwards.

- Recoveries on the bosses of stages eight and ninth are nasty. I had to do so in the ninth stage, practiced that part for a good while since it is one of those sections where you can easily lose your credit. You need to point-blank all three bosses while backing away from the aimed spread-shots while also surviving all the trigger-happy drones on the rails. The problem with the eight boss is that you cannot sit in the safe spot in the lower right if you don't have at least one upgrade to the main shot for the boss won't die before the end of the stage - it'll evince that fact by sniping you in that very corner. Meaning that you somehow have to make it past the myriad of turrets whilst saving one bomb for the boss itself.

Thanks, LordHypnos! I would've liked to get a full set of Irem or Konami shooters, too, but there are some games in both their catalogues I either don't care for that much (Air Duel, Flak Attack, Gallop) or that make me sick to the stomach (Detana!! TwinBee and TwinBee Yahhoo) so I figured I'd settle for Toaplan instead.

I am not a great player and made it on the MD, so yeah.
It is kind of relaxating... I think I wrote about that by the time I've played

I had finished 6 ships of Dodonpachi Daioujou Black Label with VeryHard set in earlier time:

A-S(survive to all):http://www.bilibili.com/video/av4319358/(groovymame 0.171)
(the input file I also has posted at here before,mediafire:http://www.mediafire.com/download/t66c9 ... %BC%89.inp)

B-S(survive to all):http://www.bilibili.com/video/av4321626/(groovymame 0.171)

A-L(survive to all):http://www.acfun.tv/v/ac3250606(groovymame 0.171)

B-L(approximately 620Mil):http://www.acfun.tv/v/3312498.aspx(shmupmame 4.2)

A-E(approximately 1.02bil):http://www.acfun.tv/v/3315135.aspx(shmupmame 4.2)

B-E(survive to all):http://www.acfun.tv/v/3292930.aspx(groovymame 0.171)
Because of VeryHard set, some score here can't be posted in Hi Score thread, but maybe it can be useful for someone here which is seeking for all-type's all in DDPDOJBL.

The diffculty doesn't raise too lot for survive to all,but if chaining, there's a lot informations(such as hyper gauge, rank system) to learn. :D

I think the A-E's 1-3 can also be full-chained under the VeryHard set.

Hey everyone, it's been a while!

Yeah, as of a few hours ago, I actually got my 1st 1cc of Mushihimesama Futari Black Label God Mode! I used Reco for this one! :) I've been working on this one for a good amount of December!

Image

Every bit as good, I managed to 1cc it before the end of the year (At the last day of 2016, to boot, and it happened in the evening of that same day as well!), so I'm really pleased about that as well! :)

And so, I leave 2016 off on a good note! A nice way to end off the year for me! All is well ends well! :D

Last thing I got was a DaiFukkatsu 1.5 1-ALL. Very easy, but 2-ALL is a completely different thing.

I tend to play that one kind of casually, switching beetwhen the versions. But I could really use a improvment

After a week of desperation, hightly ambitions, lambent experimentation and crushing losses, I just managed to clear Einhänder! Had to play on my modern TV for my CRT is dying, and as such the defeated final boss is adequately blurry, though the result pictures of my meagre score aren't too bad:

This was a very difficult clear for me thanks to three reasons:

- Shifting perspectives, tilted angles, technical trickery in a game that has a lot of frantic action.

- Randomization both regarding some nasty boss patterns and weapon drops (the latter of which I don't find too compelling - sometimes I got four Grenade drops in stage 2, other times none at all).

- Several buttons and arrangements to keep in mind even when things become hectic. Took me some time not to accidentally switch out an expedient weapon with a lot of ammunition for some unwanted stuff!

However, the victory is all the sweeter for it (and the fact that I only credit-fed for practice, videos didn't help much since almost all of those I could find had masters of their craft at work who killed everything before it could do anything). Felt pretty smug when I figured out that I could use Blade in the tough stretch before the level 5 boss to slash all those ships and mines to death whilst hugging the ground and warily tapping out of the way of the innumerable ships above. This credit was also very tense, was on my last life when I killed the mid-boss of stage 5 and miraculously finished the game on the same life. Survived one of those impossible gatling gun volleys from the fifth boss because my weapon somehow protected me this time (seriously, how do you dodge that when he fires three times in a row?), Hyperion on the other hand was stupendously friendly this time. Will add some more thoughts later in the Einhänder thread, needless to say that despite some infuriating moments, I loved the experience!

I'd love to clear Einhander one of these days. Until then, I play as a console scrub.

Speaking of scrub:

Image

My first clear of 2017 is a scrub clear of what is arguably the best shooter release of 2016: Blue Revolver!

Normal Mode that is. Autobomb is a savior, though it's nice that the team made it so that using an autobomb uses all of your bombs, preventing it from becoming too much of a crutch. There were plenty enough of tricky dodging and close calls even on the "lowest" difficulty setting. It's hard to imagine some of those midboss patterns on Hyper (I've gotten as far as stage 4 on that one).
