Uggh, another Raizing Cave production. Ibara was a arcade failure and Pink Sweets wasn't much better, so why is Cave still doing this?? I want my old Cave games backmulletgeezer wrote:I think it could go down well with Raizing fans.

I tried it yesterday, and got a great impression (although I didn't really grasp the scoring system). Pattern-wise, it reminds me a lot of Battle Bakraid, but I think it should please both Cave and Raizing fans (no super harsh Raizing learning curve this time, it seems). Graphically, it looks great (although I dislike the theme). The music sounds horrible, from what I could hear (the volume is crazy at Hey, MMP was even set up with an extra pair of speakers).
EDIT: got to the end of stage 3, first and only try...

SOUNDSHOCK
I've uploaded the video at megaupload here. Megaupload kinda sucks but hopefully it'll work.
The game looks fairly difficult at the end of stage 2 due to the rank increase. I think a superplay of this game should be entertaining to watch, in part because of the rank and in part because seeing all those big pork medals explode from the enemies is strangely satisfying.

Unofficial Bakraid sequel? Sounds good to me. Though I still hope we don't have to wait for the ROM to be dumped and hacked before we figure out how the thing actually works, heh heh.zinger wrote:Pattern-wise, it reminds me a lot of Battle Bakraid, but I think it should please both Cave and Raizing fans (no super harsh Raizing learning curve this time, it seems).
The music didn't catch my attention, but the sound effects did, most notably the fact that your character apparently screams every time you scratch a bullet or use the "pork beam" or whatever that is, in similar fashion to Pink Sweets...seeing as Raizing loves secret codes, I hope they put in one to disable that...we don't need another unceasing "Refrecto Fooooosu!" giving us nightmares. The music sounds horrible, from what I could hear (the volume is crazy at Hey, MMP was even set up with an extra pair of speakers).

The versions out there probably don't have the credits in them (even if someone could clear them by now).Gakidou wrote:Has it been confirmed that this is a Yagawa game yet? Certainly looks like it, but it could also be a Yagawa/Ikeda collaboration. Has anybody seen the credits for it?

I'm seriously loving the music for this game. it's really quite epic in a sugary jazz sorta way. please tell me they are actually using the promo vid song in the game, it's t3h sexeh. hell, the whole game is just plain awesome looking, and I can definitely see where the Bakraid feel is coming from. some of the bullet patterns remind me of the game.

I like the look of the game already. If anything, the system reminds me of an Espgaluda variant - shoot stuff to build up an attack gauge, then use that attack gauge to generate lots of juicy points. There'll be a lot of shooting things until they're about to die, then using the smallest amount of attack power to generate medals.
Not quite sure where people are getting the Bakraid vibes from, however.
This is rapidly climbing up my "to get" list this year. Looking forward to seeing more stuff. (Thanks to whoever got the loke vid.)

Great! Can anyone confirm? Since I now have a 3 button control panel, I'm pretty cautious as to which Cave/Raizing games require four buttons.sven666 wrote:looks like shot, bomb, autofire shot (optional) to me..Piratero wrote:How many buttons does this game require? 3?

its not too hard to just punch a 4th hole, just make sure you're using a metric punch.Piratero wrote:Great! Can anyone confirm? esp2 and ibara kuro use 4 buttons, dunno about any others.
Well, EspGaluda II doesn't really require the 'D' button... but Ibara: Black Label does. I'll just be avoiding games that require 4 buttons...bay wrote:its not too hard to just punch a 4th hole, just make sure you're using a metric punch.Piratero wrote:Great! Can anyone confirm? 3 buttons; shot, lard, bomb. holding shot gives autofire, so no rapid button is needed.Piratero wrote:Great! Can anyone confirm? There was a loke test recently at Club Sega in Akiba and I think somewhere in Shinjuku as well, but they're both finished. Try Co. has the PCB listed as coming out next week, but there's no mention of it on Cave's site so I don't know if it'll make that date. I'm hoping they'll spend more time fine-tuning it so we don't have to deal with any MMP ver1.5s.
Try has it for 260,400 yen which is $2181 USD, although with all the other fees involved with international purchases it'll be a bit more. I'm sure the other PCB retailers will have similar, if not a bit better prices.
With Futari there were good deals right away, so the same thing could happen with Pork too (although I'm gonna guess that it won't receive as high of a print run). Basically, if you aren't willing to fork out at least a grand for it, don't have an arcade with it in your area, or don't know anyone that owns it, it's best to forget the game exists.

think somewhere earlier in the thread a price quote of $1600 / $1800 for the kit.Piratero wrote:How much will it be? $2,400? Who's rich enough to snag the game up?

The official site has been revamped, it's now in the style of a 'Japanese town' homepage. The town is called "Butadukachou":

Pretty cool idea. The town mayor's profile is a good laugh. There's even a town theme song. Oh, and they give the population as 17,530 (slightly more boys than girls)!
