The impresive thing about Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun is the immense power they have to start an argument.

Say:
Ikaruga
Radiant Silvergun
Dreamcast
Overrated
Hardcore Gamer
Yossy Island

all in the same sentence and a webforum would implode.

3) Be praying...

And a shameless plug for the stuff I'm selling on eBay, if you're into that sort of thing.

Wow, really truly unbelievable.

If even fewer people will care and can't see the value in a free marketplace then the joke is entirely on them.
Is it really free? It depends on how practically you look at things.

If I list something on ebay, the chances are that many more people (in LOTS of countries) will see it, and potentially bid. Also, since more people who don't know what they're doing hit ebay immediately, this coupled with more bidders increases the likely value my item will fetch. It may even double it - considerably offsetting not having to pay listing+final value fees. Using a free site may not cost anything, but it may well reduce the actual amount of money I end up with. As a seller, this is bad.
But the main difference is ebay has taken 7 years to get to where it is and didn't start out as an initial success story due to their system and peoples hesitation to what at the time was a new concept, Yet you aren't prepared to extend any or the same courtesy to a new site and don't take a balanced viewpoint or hold any scope for something thats not immediately comparable and that in itself is unrealistic.

The site as it stands is a totally free marketplace and everything is in place for the users to make it work for them. Im not sure how many opportunities there will be for the potential of a free marketplace but this time its in the consumers hands.

At the end of the day its all opinions and if you look at some of the sales on VGA you'll see that many items have had comparable page views to the same items on ebay and in some cases prices have gone for more than items have on ebay, Of course there will be more users on a site thats ran for 7 years but as ebay covers thousands of categorys and not just videogames don't always think a high percentage of that figure are there just for the videogame section.

Another aspect worth comparing is the real world alternative of specialist sales versus general sales and that advantage can be carried over into dedicated online auction sites.

This site should try to improve on Ebay, not copy it.
Idea, how about fixed shipping charges.

OK, I am the only one who bids 30 $'s on a pcb and then I win it only to find out that the seller wants 300,000 $'s for shipping. And I am legally obliged to pay him 300,030 bucks.

But then again
If the shipping can be fixed per area or some sort of honest system is created it will attract less fraudulous sellers who make money on huge shipping charges.
Sorry, another bad idea.

D, you are brilliant. So you buy bootleg PCBs without knowing how much it's gonna cost to have shipped. And you feel that you need something that improves upon ebay... Good luck out there.

$300,000 for shipping? That's pretty steep.

When you're dealing with scoundrels like ebay anything can happen. Especially when your trigger finger is so hot that you bid on the bootleg first and ask questions later.

Ebay is like that one movie Young Guns. Dangerous.

I don't know what that means.

I wonder how much shipping is to Yossy Island.

Only a really hardcore gamer would want to know about shipping to Yossy Island; Probably to waste money on some overrated Dreamcast game like Ikaruga or to get a second copy of Radiant Silvergun.

What you guys say about eBay having a bigger userbase, hence more likelyhood of better sales/prices for sellers is not necessarily true.

Sure if your the only person on there selling that particular game or product. If there is 20,000 of the same identical item you can bet your ass you ain't gonna get anywhere near store price.

I think VGA needs exclusive niche products.. Maybe those sellers who have websites can put links (since VGA is free) and make a 2 way from site to VGA.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
