That's obviously right about DX, but I haven't noticed one bit of difference since I switched over to Arcade from default. Am I missing something? I checked like 3 times to make sure I was on Arcade difficulty, because I couldn't detect any difference at all.

ARCADE difficulty

sffan - 4,585,630 - Level 3

I destroyed the level 3 boss - It blew up during the "continue" countdown - but the game didn't give me a "level 4" by my score. What a rip-off.

Well you were still floating around dead in level 3!

And yeah, Arcade and Normal difficulties are a much closer to one another in this game.

Arcade
professor ganson - 4,946,310 - level 4

I take back what I said before about how the difference between arcade and normal setting is insignificant. I find it much more difficult to get to level 4 on arcade setting.

Almost there, i can see the 16,5M at least, dunno about the 17M.

Going for the WR Rando? Last time I checked Arcadia, it was in the lower 18mil region.

I don't think so...as always, top scores require more precision than i have :?

Finally

Randorama - 17,010,130 - ALL - Arcade

highlights:

1) Memorable death right after the first fairy, the game considered me an idiot and kept the rank low until stage 5 (!!!).
2)I bombed only on stage 5's first form for the first form, and bombed only once on the rings on stage 6's part that gives the extra life. ST will ensues, now to get Homura :?

3) I forgot: memorable quick kill on final boss, i think i did a 1,9, then a 1,7 (first form), then a 1,9 twice (second and third i mean). Easily the best perfomance ever on last stage, i got about 3,5M on this stage alone (!!!).

Congratulations, mate ^_^

I think the WR is in the 19mil region, so you aren't really that far away from a close-to-record score. 17mil is quite a feat though, I don't know how you keep getting these high scores. Are you sure you don't have cybernetic implants or something? ^_-

Ibara is coming soon though, you won't have much time for Homura before forum-wide "Raizing madness" ensues ^_-

Uhm, i think no one improved the SOD score on the PS2 (which is pretty tight, i'd add). On my run, well, i had a few good tricks...

Aside a very aggressive approach, i just skip the milking on bosses 2 and 3, i do a simpler version of the stage 4's columns trick (i.e. instead of waiting for all the columns to appear and then bomb, i just take them down a bit later by shooting), i don't bomb on the final part of the sixth stage (nasty to handle, you need to point-blank with laser and it's pretty tight) and i also avoid to bomb the two big tanks during said stage (if point-blanked, it's still possible to nail a x1,9 without bombing, but it's riskier).

For the rest, i destroy everything on the fourth boss, and in general i don't leave too much points around. After all, this game is really about taking down enemies before they even shoot, so you get a x2.0 or x1.9... Oh, and medals, i think i can easily nail all medals, now.

At any case, Ibara will arrive on March, so i have a couple of months for Homura, they should suffice :?

Of course, that's my first time and I died a few times, it could be improved some.

Normal mode

i triggered a 1-up just before st 3 boss, how is this done? i think it maybe because i destroyed the cranes?

Arcade mode

hm, my weapons choices are quite different when playing in 'arcade' difficulty mode..

DC906270 - 6,756,100 - Stage 4 - Arcade mode - PS2

and yeah, to answer my own question (thanks guys  ), the 1-UP is triggered in st 3 by destroying (i think) both cranes (one on each side)just before you get to the st 3 boss.

is anyone looking after this thread anymore. does anybody care? lol, i just got this game, its good :P
