Since I missed the entirety of the arcade games block, which runs were 1ccs if any? I know PJ has 1cc'd Battletoads a few times, but no idea if he got it here or not.

KH2 FM's level 1 Critcal Data Org also went pretty well. I pretty much knew what to expect for strats as I've watched runs of it before, but it's definitely a nice category to watch.

Violent Storm was a 1cc, Battletoads was not. Didn't stick around for AvP.

What happen? I'm restricted to replays, my PC+internet choke balls. :[

Related, F-Zero Climax run was rad. Bought a copy immediately after.

Phantoon spawned his dozen or so flames on top of one runner, killing him a third of the way through the race. IIRC someone almost got killed by him last year too - when you're using your health as an expendable resource, that fight is dangerous.

The other guy had a great run, but the poor guy who got nailed had to sit there on cam the whole time

Animals got saved though, and that incentive brought in over $200k.

If you want to see the full TGM video run here it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=410aGnClT68

Even if you didn't watch it live it is still quite interesting to watch. Explained a few more things about the rotation rules in the later TGM stuff. Thanks to the TGM players! :D

Super Metroid became a non-race after Phantoon did its usual thing of killing 50% of runs, because Phantoon is just like that. Since the SM community is aware of the high race retirement rate, I'm surprised that they didn't make it a four-way race again to mitigate the possibility of one or more players being eliminated, but it was still pretty fun to watch some of the new tricks being performed by sweetnumb who made it to the end.

Currently watching the rest of the the blindfolded Ocarina of Time run, which I stopped watching about 30mins in this morning as it was approaching 4am. Highly impressive stuff. Will rewatch the Yoshi's Island any% warps race later as its one of the more entertaining technical glitchfests to watch.

Is there an official place with the replays, or is it just random people uploading to youtube? Would like to check some of these, tetris tgm3 was great.

There'll be uploads to their official channel, but it usually takes a couple months for them all to get up. Reddit has a twitch VOD thread which is pretty useful:

http://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/commen ... read_2015/

I didn't expect them to beat last year's total. Guess I have to go watch the OoT run to see the room explode.

EDIT: I believe this is their official channel. There are a couple unofficial channels that get things up faster, since the people running them aren't busy running and cleaning up the event. :P

I missed the Battleblock Theater co-op 100% run as I was at work at the time, so I'm watching it now.
I haven't laughed this much for a long time. Great game and great couch/developer interaction.

Loved the F-Zero block this year. Mortally dangerous and infinitesimally beneficial SFC White Land II double jump while leading in a marathon race, BALLS YO. Concurring with the announcer on the X All Staff Ghosts run. You will believe a car can fly.

Yeah... cool to see.. although, several restarts were used (good to see an SCC run though). Shoutouts to the random camera zoom-in on Neagleria's eye (enhance, 34 to 36) as well as getting so hyped from a 1CC that you end up resetting the console!

I haven't watched much stuff from this year's event but this is the best thing I've seen so far. High level TGM is always impressive.

Also nice to see Daioujou at the event.

SOTN 4-way any% race was extremely enjoyable - superb execution and very tight-run. I don't normally like overly glitchy runs (hi HOD Maxim), but seeing the game's inventory broken in half for an ultimate killing machine / speed demon Alucard was thoroughly entertaining, especially in a live race setting.

edit: and Richter any% 3-way race Image brutal technique and intensity in a micro runtime.

AVP was very informative. Not a 1CC, but I found out about a bunch of cool stuff I'd never heard of before.

For those of you who missed it, the Dark Forces II speed run was possibly my favorite/most impressive run of the week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHJA1Z-nApM

I think my favorite thing this year was the Yoshi's Island race. Insanely consistent play from both players, and very good commentary.

I don't see any harm in it. I thought it was 100x more awkward when Caleb finished the MMX race and was giving shout outs to everyone under the sun and it totally looked like he was building up to a proposal for his girl who was sitting close by and then he sorta kissed her or something and moved on. She was probably like "HOPES CRUSHED."

Yeah, you have a point. There's probably some background story to it too that makes the event or place more significant to them and it all boils down to personal preferences. But proposing in front of an audience of strangers, some of them likely to be socially awkward, with live recording and online commentary, puts a lot of weird pressure on the girl.
I can imagine some guy there saying something completely inappropriate at just the wrong time, but maybe they are the kind of people who would just laugh about it.

Agreed. Anyone who wants to propose in a very public way has their head in the clouds and should strongly consider whether they and their partner want their life changing decisions made on the spot with public pressure influencing the answer.

But best of luck to the couple.

A little back story on Jackafur(the guy that proposed) and Kittyrawr(the girl). So when she started streaming, she had a boyfriend who she claimed was "the only one" and "love of her life" and had it written all over her profile and social media etc. She broke up with this dude in August 2014 and starts dating Jackafur. Jackafur used to complain on stream all day about his ex girlfriend leaving him, being a degenerate and not having a job until recently when he found one at the age of 27 years old at Burger King. He really doesn't have much going for him and she is still very young. There's a running bet that this gets called off before the next GDQ.

The more you hear about them the worse this gets. Last time I read about that couple people claimed the guy messaged girls on twitch asking them to date him, and his current gf is the only one who eventually unblocked him and went for it. As you implied, they've also only been together for like half a year.
