iconoclast wrote:Deathsmiles. If Cave took everything that was great about DS, DSMBL, and DS2 and put all of it into a single game, DS3 would be one of the best shumps ever created. But of course that's never going to happen, since they'd need at least a year or two to develop and fine-tune such a big project.

In an old interview with retro gamer magazine, there was talk of a deathsmiles 3,apparently they were working on concept designs and stuff, that was back in 2010.Obvioulsy,it won't happen now,but it was a possibility at one point.

Ultimate Mahou Daisakusen: Dimahoo is good, but I think the game's formula could benefit from some refining. Maybe add in secret bosses/routes to allow the player to choose the boss/route that contains the items they currently need. They could do some interesting things with the polarity system too. Basically, I want this game to be to Dimahoo what Batrider (or even Bakraid) was to Garegga.

P47 - Animal Planet: I want to see an advancement on the Hump scoring system. Maybe mix it in with a 2nd mechanic (Kakesui humping?)

Last Hope - Purple Scoring System: I think the system that they added in with the PB upgrade was very nice, and I would like to see them build a sequel from the ground up with these mechanics in mind from the beginning.

Also, new Mushi/MMP.

Too bad, you're getting Ultimate Kingdom Grandprix with some Dimahoo mechanic scraps if you're lucky instead. Oh baby. 8)

Well, shit.
Played it for the first time, and it pretty much is Recca 2!

Although it is missing all the speed [to be fair, it would be terrifying if it had RECCA SPEED], it is still oppressive in its intensity. 'S fun.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Press A+B to change the ship's speed (also used to cancel the rose cracker/bomb).

I've always thought Twin Hawk was closer to Flying Shark than Fire Shark TBH. A true sequel to Flying Shark wouldn't have other power-ups than S and B.

THIS. I'd love to see a real modern Thunder Force game by members of the original team with killer music and more interesting weapons.

Yes to both! Gradius VI would be super awesome if it could achieve the same atmosphere and pacing as GV. And while Darius Burst was a bit of a step down from G-Darius and Gaiden, it was still good stuff, and it would be nice to see a full sequel coming to modern consoles (Wii U please).

Seirei Senshi Spriggan's Caravan modes. Task Force Harrier (deserves one just like Daioh deserved Shienryu). Super Mario Land shmup levels (that Gunpei Yokoi would be proud of). Silpheed (that would be playable, with the presentation to match that of Mega-CD version)*). Arrow Flash. Vulgus without screen wobble. Omega Fighter with smoother animation in slo-mo.
*) Actually, Axelay deserves the same - more playability.

I'd love to see a sequel to Homura. This time they need to keep the red blood, maybe add in another shot type and tweak the melee mechanic.
