Exactly, think about it, don't also forget Platinum/Cave the Best/Cave Selection (bargian) releases.

Besides, putting it this way, this is just pretty much for collectors, fans, etc, more or less double dipping on titles that they already have, all just to include the booklets, superplays, and the DLC Disk. I mean, look at it this way, for the same $300 more or less, you can even get these fairly cheap, depending on regions and such of course. Mostly pricing here pertaining from titles to the NA/US region (and some others from PAL/JP), I dunno much for PAL and JP prices [into NA/US pricing at least]. I'll just abbreviate anyways for no confusion.

- DeathSmiles: $10 (NA/US)
- DeathSmiles IIX: $30 (NA/US Games on Demand)
- Mushihime-sama HD: About $80-100 (RL'd) (JP)
- Mushihime-sama Futari ver1.5: $40-50 (Platinum) (RF) (JP)
- ESPgaluda II Black Label: $40-50 (Platinum) (RF) (JP)
- DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu ver1.5: ? (Semi-RF on PAL and NA/RL'd on JP)
- DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu Black Label (including KetsuiPachi): ? (RL'd) (JP)
- Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets: ? (RF) (JP)
- Akai Katana [Shin]: $15 (NA/US)
- Guwange (XBLA): $10/800MSP (DD)

If anyone has any idea on other region prices, go right ahead, including bargain versions and/or combo packs as well. You can even correct me if necessary too.

TL;DR - May cost more or less than $300 anyways if bought elsewhere from other regions.

Not me, they can get fucked with their re-releases of re-releases already re-released. This company milks its catalogue so hard its fanbase has all grown titties.

SDOJ is the last one I'm buying.

I can see this being handy for getting newbies into the genre, or people that are dying for some of the DLC, but other than that....

Only way I'd even consider getting this is if the title is completely and utterly region-free which I don't think will happen. Would like to hear Op Intensify's view on this though. :P

I think this pretty much confirms that SDOJ will be their last 360 port as promised..... unless of course they do just one more port after that and then re-re-release their shooting collection again to include SDOJ along with another yet unannounced title.

I can't see that it would, given how expensive it is(and I assume a limited print?), although there may be something in the licensing contract that would technically make it prohibited. Anyone who's going to buy this probably already has every cave game available in their region.

That said, I sadly don't see it being region free.

I also would consider buying this if there was a physical disc version of Guwange or at least on Disc.

About $375 is what you are looking to spend to buy all of them at the best price you can.

Seems like this should be just a little less. More like $250

I don't think newbies to the genre are going to drop $300 on this

also I feel like this collection would mean a lot more if Cave had released every one of their games on 360... right now it feels incomplete

Are they going to release more games or are they done.. they might not need a publisher ever again.

Says the guy who has spent, what, $10,000 on CAVE PCBs? Is it that terrible to want to support one of our favorite companies? If I buy this collection it will be for the superplay DVDs (if they are the same as the ones out now, it's already a great value), and potentially the hard copy of Guwange and/or Futari BL.

It's extremely sad to think about it that way, but I agree.

Great idea, but then those of us who have been buying their releases all along would go ape shit over having to buy everything again in order to get Ibara (or whichever unreleased game they'd have chosen).

Can't believe they've missed the chance to put something exclusive in there. I won't buy it, but if Ibara/Black Label was in I might... But that would be pure evil right?

Also, it doesn't include SDOJ. It would have been better to wait six months after SDOJ and include that in the release as well.

Interesting package. Video game "collection" packages are becoming more common these days. I'll wait for more concrete information before I make a decision though.

Pity, I'd love an extra copy of those to borrow out to friends (to corrupt them).

Agreed. From the information there is at this point, if you're complaining about getting 10+ games plus extras for the price of three, please do something besides posting in this thread--perhaps try masturbating and/or hanging yourself. The fact that Cave (apparently) haven't sneaked an exclusive of some sort into the bundle is the exact opposite of milking their fans; this is an amazing deal for anyone who doesn't own most of the games, and priced cheaply enough that those who want the super play DVDs should have no trouble funding the purchase of this set by selling their current games.

If it somehow does end up being region free, that would make some of the content exclusive to folks without j360s. I imagine a lot of folks here would buy this package just to be able to play Mushi/DLC and Ketsuipachi.

It seems unlikely that it will be RF though. Would the DLC still be RF? Or, at least stuff like MMP/PS Matsuri and Futari 1.01 that already could be used on a non japanese account?

I don't see any reason to complain about this either. Depending on what superplays and other bonus content is included I personally may or may not buy, but I think the overall idea of rereleasing all the games in one go is both a 'safe' move for a company that may or may not be struggling and a good way of putting more of their titles out on the market. This would be a PHENOMENAL way for someone to get into the CAVE games, and offers absolutely stupid value whatever way you look at it. 7 Superplays? Each of those alone might be worth $60-$100. Almost all the CAVE ports? Again, $60-$100+ each. Pricing them all at $300 is amazing.

Maybe I'm just optimistic, but I don't see any problem here.

Deathsmiles 1 and 2 alone take up over 3gb when installed, plus another gigabyte for Futari + BL, so it's very unlikely that they'd be able to squeeze all of those games + DLC into a single DVD. But I also doubt that each game will be on its own disk. They'll probably fit as much as they can into as few disks as possible.
Geez, what's filling all the space? I guess it's just full of higher quality music and such? I can't believe these games are that large.

They should be throwing DoDonPachi in there, ripped straight from the novel game. That'd be the hook.

Actually, I bet there are some hidden easter eggs in here and maybe even a surprise game. But if you don't preorder now you'll never score a copy! It'll be too late..

How do those work, anyway? Are they like the content discs for certain games where you have to install them to HDD/USB storage?
I recall when I first got my 360 Arcade, it had an "Arcade" disc that had stuff like Pac-Man CE and the like on it. The Arcade disc booted up like any other 360 game, into a Blades-style menu where you could pick which game you wanted to play, and would then boot into game directly. Leaving the game took you back to the main dashboard, but you could then just boot the Arcade disc again to play another game.

I decided to experiment with this and downloaded the Pac-Man CE trial on the same 360. After booting the Arcade disc and running Pac-Man CE from the disc, I found the trial was now in full version mode, as if I had purchased it; this lasted until the system was shut down.

Some games really did store their music and other assets completely uncompressed - DOJBLEX comes to mind - but I don't recall if any of the Cave releases did the same. More likely though, the size is simply the result of padding data added to the disc in order to push the game's actual data further towards the outside of the disc, where the drive can read it faster. The HDD installer probably can't tell which parts of the disc contain important data, especially on games that predate the install process.

I'm not sure if its this way with all xbla "collection discs", but with the Pop Cap Plants vs Zombies collection, it boots up like a normal game, and lets you pick the game from a menu (Like Raiden Fighters Aces). However, it won't allow this disc to be installed like most retail games.

Not a huge deal, but I do like to install the games I am playing a lot.
