Yeah, I said that as well sometime last year.xbl0x180 wrote:PAPERBOY!![]()
I think it also doubles as a shoot-'em-up
Huh, I don't remember getting that far in the game!circuitface wrote:Three mentions for Toaplan's Demon's World/Horror Story! Seriously one of my favorite arcades. It's very endearing. I always call the 1 player guy 'Lenny', with his slick ass mustache and rockin' shades.

But you still have to look at Chelnov to see where he's facing; the turn-and-shoot button configuration allows you to get away with playing nearly blind (or to focus on other things, like the pretty scenery). Autofire isn't an equalizer; you're not shooting any faster in the other direction (from the moment you decide to shoot in another direction to the moment it happens on screen) than with the turn-and-shoot button, but actually slower - because you still have to press the turn button. Unless you use multiple fingers on your A-B-C row, like via an arcade stick, you still will have to pick up your finger, except twice now, instead of just once. Even with an arcade stick, there's no disadvantage to using the turn-and-shoot mode. On an original pad it is clearly better in this respect.Obiwanshinobi wrote:(and it's always obvious which side Chelnow faces) and just tap the turn button whenever I want to switch directions. Since auto-fire is kosher in the port, I call it a matter of taste.
I would agree that using the other method might be worthwhile if you feel more comfortable with it...but I'd still suggest trying out the turn-and-shoot method. Even though they might sound minor, the benefits I've mentioned made a difference for me.
