Big Trouble In Little China, now that I can and do watch anytime. If I want to just check one little detail, I end up watching the whole movie because.. there is not a single dead moment there, it's a constant barrage of cool effects, fighting, macho bullshit, funny dialogue, friendship, great music...

Yeah, especially Total Recall and many other Arnie's movies are the same - if I take one glance at them, I'm glued and gotta watch the whole movie. And repeat the dialogue with friends who undestand these finer points in life.

Almost forgot The Warriors. I've seen it on tv, vhs, dvd, blu-ray and cinema, and it's just as great every time. Last year I even went for a little pilgrimage to see the locations from the Bronx to Coney Island. In CI I met this tattoo shop owner, Eddie, who told stories of the olden times, how Coney Island was in the seventies and what the Warriors are up to now . And I bought a super cool The Warriors baseball shirt :) There's a remake coming, set in L.A. and directed by Tony Scott, but I'm not worried, the original will live forever!

Yeah, I love movies! What I mean is I don't sit down and make a point of re-watching the same thing every weekend or whatever. If someone wants to watch a movie I don't mind recommending something I've seen, like Dr Strangelove or Blade Runner. There are films I've seen countless times over - just not on some kind of weekly ritual.

I'll probably watch the Hurt Locker again soon as I told my old man I'll bring it down to London next time I'm there.

I re-watch a lot of films because I'm a film/media teacher. When it comes to re-watching films for pleasure though, it all depends on whether or not I'm watching with friends.

Depending on the company, Goddard's Week End is great for chin stroking and spectacle alike, Story of Ricky is great for Saturday morning hung-over piss-ups, Irreversible is perfect for very late night drunken gatherings, The Holy Mountain only gets more amazing the drunker you are, Violated Angels is brilliant to show to people who think they like violent films (they change their mind quickly), My Neighbour Totoro is a brilliant hangover film. I've seen all these films many times. I also drink too much.

Edit: Oh yes, Total Recall. Have watched this fairly ritualistically. "Is this the real Quaid? It is!" Ah, Arnie is such an under-rated actor

Marx Brothers
Three Stooges
Evil Dead Trilogy
The Dish
The Castle
God of Cookery
Harvey
Arsenic and Old Lace

Me three. Every time I watch it, I see it from a new angle - anti-consumerism, feminist, religous, the list goes on. Of course it's pretty unrelenting on the good old-fashioned violence front too.

I also find Blade Runner, Terminator and Predator to be infinitely rewatchable.

Indeed, he's a riot in that one!

(recounting being ambushed by his co-workers) "Dey tried to kill me! But den... I killed dem!!"

The staredown with that pudgy company lackey is pure gold too.

The ONE movie I've rewatched the most times I think is "The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew". I was very happy when I found the DVD release years after I'd lost my VHS copy. Close runners up are Undercover Brother, A Night At The Roxbury and Spies Like Us. I would love to see Chungking Express more often though, as it is an awesome little film, and a great rewatch at that. Not a big fan of watching horror films, but for Psycho 2 I'd be willing to make an exception.

Edit: Arnold is so much fun in Commando it hurt my face from laughing so hard. Just try to sit through all the cutesy stuff with his daughter in the beginning (getting Ice Cream in his face) without laughing out loud. I dare ya!

My Most Rewatchable Flicks

1. Dawn of the Dead (original)

2. Tron

3. Aliens

4. Alien

5. Hard-Boiled

6. Primer

7. Dune

8. Nowhere

9. Scarface

10. Cube

Generally, one major aspect that affects a film's rewatchability factor is the ending. Movies with shock/surprise ending don't tend to get many repeat viewings from me since much of my initial experience was trying to figure out who/what was behind whats going on (Cube being an exception, I love the atmosphere of the film and the dialogue).

For me I can watch Goonies any time. I could probably just start again as soon as it finishes.

The same is true for Labyrinth, Clerks and Vanishing Point.

I want to add Blake Edwards' The Great Race to the list since it has me wanting to watch it again, but I have only watched it once.
