You posted. Thus, you said "I want to join this."

Do you want out? Now's as good a time as any to back down.

I posted a comment to another post in the thread.
A comment in reply to another post does not equal "I want in".
Therefore, remove me from the list.

lgb: Posting does not mean "I want in". Typing "I want in" means "I want in". It's obnoxious to assume otherwise.

Oh yeah, I don't want to be in this tournament.

If you want more participation you might want to wait another week or two so people can recover from STGT.

In my thread, posting period means "I want in". Is that a bit more clear? Fine, you two, I'll remove you. Just read that first sentence before you go so you know next time. Maybe you'll even learn to stop taking forum functions for granted. That's obnoxious.

But seriously (all that above wasn't seriously?), this is a thread for people who want to enter a tournament. This is not a thread for people to discuss how Caravans work. If you don't want to take it to PMs, then take it to that STGT2009 speculation thread, because that's what the topic is about; what you're doing next year.

Hey, that gives me an idea! Have a "Caravan Special STGT". Seriously, laser is not hard. Unless you want this to be it?
--------
@mikwuyma: First you ask whether I could wait until STGT ended. Then you ask if I could wait another 2 weeks. Next you'll ask for me to wait until December. Maybe.

@szycag: I am seriously thinking about that. But I still haven't chosen whether to go by sikraiken's definition of a Caravan, or actual Hudson Caravan.
--------
edit: You know what else is obnoxious? Posting in a thread just to say "I don't want to be in this tournament". Both of you, get out.

This should also not be a thread to discuss how you're going to do scoring placement for the tournament, to discuss what a Caravan is, nor to complain about people not making the correct discussion. Blah blah blah

This is the community's forum, not just yours. Get over yourself. Why do you get so defensive/offended about things?

Yeah, you're beginning to sound a little hostile and rude. You should turn it around or I think I will back out on participating. I don't want to be involved in something like that.

I love the idea (since Dangun was the most fun of STGT08, hands down) but nine weeks are just too many. Seems like there was enough good material to do TWO separate caravan tournaments instead of a very long one.

P.S. this post is about my two cents on the matter. It is not about joining the tournament.

Someone should start another Caravan tournament, where whenever anyone posts in the registration thread, lgb automatically opts out.

Wow, and I thought I was causing problems. Fine, you all do whatever. Not like I can stop you...

@sikraiken: All three of those topics are clearly related to the subject material.

@MX7: I wouldn't do such a thing.

I apologize for my somewhat rude behavior earlier. All I have are excuses you probably don't want to hear (or maybe you do) and a recap to make it a little easier to deal with as a whole, for me and you. Let's just say I was sick.

1. This is a "Caravan" tournament, which is made up of short, generally one-stage-long games that may or may not have a time limit. There will be 5 weeks: 1 PC-Engine game, one PC-Engine CD game, one arcade game, one PC game, and Summer Carnival '92 - Recca for the Famicom.

2. There is no voting or voting weeks involved, only playing weeks. The games chosen for each week is random to me but probably not for you, both in game chosen and method of choosing.

3. A week will begin at some point on a Monday and will end at some point on a Sunday. The weeks are non-stop, there will be no breaks except the hours between a playing week's end and beginning.

4. The point system is simple: 100 / how many people have entered and submitted a score. Sometimes in a week, there will be two different competitions in one, this is more often the case with PC-Engine and PC-Engine as they usually have two such "Caravan" modes; Hudson's Soldier series have a 2 minute mode and 5 minute mode, and the Naxat (and their partners in play)-hosted "Summer Carnival" games usually have a 2 minute long "Score Attack" mode (same as any 2 minute mode in a Soldier game) and 5 minute long "Time Attack" mode (you have 5 minutes to get a certain score that is different for each game; for weeks with such competitions, you would submit a time instead of a score). In such cases, the "100 / how many people enter and post a score" will become "50 / how many people (...)"; you'd have to enter both boards to try for a normal full week's worth.

--------

Now, this would be that temporary list again:

lgb
kozo
Arvandor
Ed Oscuro
OmniGLH
shiftace
szycag
P_HAT
SFKhoa

Corrections? Comments? I still think this could work out alright.
