The public school system is an ogre. Everyone knows it is broken. Nobody wants to do what would be necessary to fix it. Teaching abstinence in school is as stupid as DARE. If you read the article...

More of an endorsement of contraceptive use, not sex education/abstinence programs. The study is exactly in line with what Shin said.

To be honest I've never seen a public school, only chains of Channe1-Coca-Subway that happen to teach things to kids. And stop taking everything I say seriously. I thought everyone knew I was the resident commie.

The rights position is sort of a mobius strip. They don't want abstinence/sexual responsibility or whatever you want to call it taught in school, but you know they know that just means more abortions.

wrong, this is the prime time of sex life, man. This is why I'm trying to get as much fun as I can, because after the late teens/early 20s are over, I have a feeling sex is going to lose some of that spark, something to do with getting older and more mature. I mean, it's crazy to think that a large deal of people get married in their mid to late 20s, that's what happened with my parents but I don't see that happening to me. How they could decide to choose one person to live the rest of their life with with at least 60 years left to live is beyond me.

Two things sparked this idea to get in everything while I can; one, I saw the hotty who played Juliet in the 1968 movie as a really old and unattractive woman a few months ago, which really got me thinking, damn, looks really don't last forever.
And two, while it's already illegal for me to go out with high schoolers now, it's going to be superillegal (and kinda creepy) in a few years time. So now's the last chance I'll ever get, so here's to using it.

I'd rather play Ocarina of Time then get laid. Sex seems like a chore to me. Also, you have to worry about STD's, babies, and the fact if you're partner even enjoys it or not.

EDIT: I'm not saying OoT is a chore to play. In fact, that game is nearly perfect and is much better than anything I could do with a girl. Also, the game lasts longer.

I know no one asked for my opinion, but I have to get this off my chest. I want to thank Hollywood and MTV for the subject we are talking about. Thanks to them for making being boastful, self centered, rude, inconsiderate and having no morals a cool thing. And thanks to a lot of American kids to be dumb enough to buy into all of this garbage. A lot of you may think I'm being too old fashioned and backwards and non progressive, but remember: not all movement is forward. And there's nothing wrong with being old fashioned, polite, modest, and actually having morals.

Damn, I didn't even get any in high school and these kids are doing it in middle school?! God damn these kids nowadays. I would have cut a finger off to get a good roll in the hay with some of the girls I went to school with. And it's just like an everyday novelty to kids now, so much so that they already need tto be doing it in public just to spice things up!

Lets not forget the magazines either. I just about fainted when I saw what was being printed in these girls magazines recently. I took a look at one and it was LOADED with sex tips, "romantic" new positions to try, and all this other nonsense that fills girls minds. This was a magazine targeted at teenage girls.

Because of MTV, magazines, and fantasy love story movies, my girlfriend is now semi-insane.

What I want to know is WHY people think self-restraint is a Bad Thing(tm). Merely because something is natural doesn't immediately make it holy and inviolate. (Of course, this is coming from a 29-year-old male who actually prizes his chastity...) So...what's going on? Do these fellows see themselves acting so chaotically thirty years hence?

Meanwhile, I do wish people would realize that ANY formation of contraception is not guaranteed to prevent pregnancy. Bring the probability very close to zero, yes, but not AT zero. So, best to be sure. Don't bed each other unless neither of you are afraid to have a child (not "desire a child"; just "not afraid to have a child").
