Well, that's exactly what I want: to disqualify my earlier vote. So I guess I have the last laugh.

I'm sick with a cold right now and have a ton of work, but I'm going to do my best. If I don't play at some point, I won't have a chance at last place, which will get me that prize from Rob.

I vote for Juno First, although it pretty much already lost.

Does anybody else find the character sprite in Section Z funny? He's such a pansy.

ok, after some more playing through the options I have made up my mind.

I vote for Section Z!

oh and just for the record my first (and edited) post NEVER contained a vote!

I merely added the thoughts about other games after telling I was confused (with Exerion being my first purchased shmup)
So there's no ground for disqualifying my vote! :)

All of these are terrible.

voted 6th option (view results)
I vote the same
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

professor ganson wrote:Question about Star Force: The version on the Caravan Shooting collection is chopped. How is the version on the XBox Tecmo collection?
I'll answer my own question. I went out and picked up the Tecmo collection and there's no chopping. It looks and plays quite nicely. I doubt that there is a tate option, but I'll check anyway.

EDIT: I checked. No tate. But there is a difficulty setting. The default is Very Easy, which still seemed reasonably challenging. The Normal setting is really fast-paced, WAY faster than the NES or SNES could handle, I believe. If this game wins, I hope there will be a way of standardizing difficulty level without requiring everyone to play in mame. After all, I just spent $20 in order to be able to participate!

I think people should be allowed to play any version, not just MAME (unless it's a totally different game, as in NES Section Z). If one port is somehow advantageous over another, figuring that out is part of the strategy. Since this tourney is intended for fun, we should have that kind of leeway.

Of course, part of the reason I say that is because I happen to actually own ports of both Section Z and Star Force, and I'd like to be able to use them.

Is that a martial arts sexual technique?

Despite my overwhelmingly breaken heartedness at the lack of Stargate, I'll still vote ;)

I used to play the hell out of Time Pilot '84 in the arcades back in the day, but I think I'll vote for Star Force.

I just tried this out today. I don't know any of you anymore. Juno First at least has a scoring system (and lots of olde time twitch dodging. and flashing colors).

Perhaps. While Juno First is an interesting game, I actually own Star Force. It'd be nice to get to play without involving emulation. It'd give my keyboard a rest ;)

Just a update for this record voter turnout. Take like, 3 votes off Juno and 1 off Section Z from the unofficial thing above and the winning gaps are about where they should be.
