What type of flight socks are people using for Air Gallet? Or is everyone just using poverty tier rubber bands around Fruit of the Loom?

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Even if the skill sets are related, it'd still be far more efficient to practice your skills on problems that actually resemble what you'll be faced with, in an environment resembling the one you'll find yourself in. You don't practice shmups by taking the SAT, do you? Don't use SATs as an excuse to play video games - you're not being clever, you're just being lazy and undisciplined.
Even playing one STG doesn't necessarily substantially improve your ability to play another. For example, being able to 1cc Mars Matrix on the DC with 1.8 trillion points doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be able to clear Cho Ren Sha 68k on normal.

...At least not without some dedicated practice of that. Or so has been my experience.

It doesn't matter what socks you have on, they're coming off violently.

My Crimzon Clover 1CC replay has me getting game over in stage 1. It even shows the buttons still being pressed during the "Continue?" countdown. Why? Here's a video.

Your video, it seems, has fallen prey to YouTube's shit-tier encoding.

A. No, I set the recorder to compress the video a ton in order to minimize the file size, because I was planning on recording the whole playthrough.
B. I was asking why the game fucked up my button presses and had me get game over at stage 1 in the replay, while in reality I ALL-CLEARed it and didn't even die until stage 4 IIRC (even says so on the replay file in the selection).

I assume you both recorded and played back your replay on v1.06 right? Try turning VSync on or off - that's fixed some people's replay desync issues in Mushihimesama, though I haven't heard of the same happening in Crimzon Clover.

I actually fixed the issue by changing the button mapping back to default. I swapped the triangle and circle buttons, which were pause and break respectively, before the ALL-CLEAR run to make breaking/bombing more convenient.

Could just be me, but stage 2 in Progear seems much easier to score in than stage 1.

Someone with more experience care to chime in?

It was added on January 8th to DLsite for ¥1,620. Not sure if the dev has plans to add the game to the English side too, but it sometimes takes a week or so to show up.

You may be confused with the MMP/PS port that has the rank bars available. Not sure if any PCBs have them. Probably not worth it to manage rank anyway

Yeah I'm pretty sure there are no rank bars in any version of the PCB. I imagine in one of the debug menus you could find the rank as a number, but it wouldn't be that useful since you really can't control rank in PS.

Is the TLB in Blue Revolver only accessible on Parallel using Val? Does Mae have her own TLB on that mode?

Well you can control rank in Pink Sweets, it's just more fun not to since the game's actually somewhat playable at max rank, unlike Garegga/Batrider/Bakraid, thanks to the shield mechanic.

I'm not sure if it's on the PCB (don't know how to tell) but the video I linked in my post just above is a 1CC without the infinite lives trick. If you don't have a Nicovideo account I mirrored it to YouTube a while back with all four parts combined: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD9uugKoGQ4

The user also has a couple other 1CCs uploaded.

Edit: Actually it's definitely on PCB, the video was uploaded before the Xbox 360 port was released.

Ooh I 'member. I have that one (in four parts) sitting on an old hard drive. Taught me how not to fight with that game.
Still damn brutal.

Which Border do I need to stay on in order to reach Stage 6-C in Border Down? Green, Yellow, or Red? I'm assuming it's Yellow.

Stevens wrote:From the FAQ

There are four versions of stage 6. Which version you enter
depends on the ratio among the time you spend in the borders, and
the number of times you have cleared the stage norm. If you spend
over 50% of the time in a certain border color (green, yellow,
red) /and/ you have cleared the stage norm 4 or more times, you
will enter 6B, 6C or 6D respectively. Otherwise, you will enter
6A.
So yes, yellow.

I've later found out from the dev that a Steam release is also in the works.

BTW. is there any trick I need to know to purchase from the JP section of DLsite? I've been shopping in the English section for a long time, but it never occurred to me to check the JP inventory.
Good to hear about Steam, although Neko Navy beat Cambria Sword to the punch, even though both were released on DLsite the same day. Of course, there's the question of whether either will take Hanaji Games' approach on Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo of offering a DRM-free version as well.

I haven't purchased from the Japanese side of DLsite yet, but I know that you need to establish a separate account and the site has a habit of rejecting non-Japanese credit cards. May have to do with 3-D Secure, which goes by other names, and isn't readily recognized by non-Japanese credit cards' customer service reps. Paypal isn't an option.

Lastly, a 2-stage demo for Cambria Sword was just posted to DLsite.
