Yeah, I'm 100% certain that he already confirmed all loading times had been reduced to just a few seconds, as per Ketsui.

Yesterday was quite at work so I read most of the thread and the saga of the patch continues. I remember posts from almost a year ago how the patch was coming within the next 2-3 weeks and its been like a year since then. And how Ketsui was never going to ported due to daioujou's ps2 code scandal and some other problems.
Anyway, I hope they fix the practise mode as atm it's quite useless without power ups selection.
And I am not too bothered about the loading times as once you are in game it pretty much doesn't matter anymore.

As always Mihara is just laughin all fans. Really the patch was supposed to be in the hands of MS by the end of September to pass their certification protocol and what we get now it is another:wait a bit longer.

Or people just weren't hardcore enough to get there-Scores would show stages that didn’t exist (like 1-6)

Great to hear that the patch is already completed but does this mean that the Practise mode has not been fixed (selecting power of your ship)?

Looks like it's worth the wait, especially if the removal of the smoothing makes it look as good as Ketsui. (Too bad that's as good as it's going to get, really...)

Hope this patch comes out before my school goes on break so I can practice some DOJ while waiting for DFK. Gave up on trying to get my game to save, hopefully this fixes that.

I would love to see a re-print - they did mention an ambition to do this - unlikely to happen though... It's been most likely delayed by kinect if the delay is MS based; which is quite likely recently , however, this doesn't explain what's been going on for the previous year

In the grand scheme it is late, quite late overall with respect to the original release date. Of course that was under premise it was in Mihara's hands and now it's apparently up to Microsoft as to when it is released. Even if you don't notice the gameplay changes, I think anyone can appreciate it when the game doesn't look like shit anymore thanks to the removal of the filter... that, and fixed load times.

From what EOJ covers in his blog it looks like Cave did a major overhaul. I'm a patient guy, and given that DOJblex is an out of print game, I applaud their efforts in appeasing their loyal fans. Especially happy about a fixed training mode, no loading in between stages, and how settings don't effect a single credit (I often play on very hard with extra lives).

I don't think they (5pb) ever expressed a desire to reprint. In fact, I'm pretty sure they specifically stated that a reprint wasn't on the cards (on their website). Sure they can. Akira own the code and Akira is on board for the patch. All they'd have to do is hammer out a profit sharing deal and I'm sure it would be quite possible. Unless something in their original licensing deal with Cave would prevent that. Though to be honest there are still a lot of sealed copies in the wild and they are not climbing in value.
