Well, coloured discs could mean it's a new print and that means there is still hope for it to be region free, right?

But on the other hand, the only reasons for PAL-shmuppers to get this would be Deathsmiles 2 and DFK BL for Ketsuipachi.

Riiight.

(It wouldn't surprise me if they'd have to get the games re-certified by Microsoft to alter the region settings)

I actually physically winced when I saw that. That's some tacky shit right there.

The text above the picture say that those are "sample discs". I assume that the final packaging will be different. The artwork on the discs look pretty cool though.

Here's hoping the final discs are in b/w like the first prints.

Ignoring their various licensing and distribution deals, changing anything on the disks would almost certainly require pushing them through the certification process again. That costs money.

Update on the collection:
http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/22/ca ... stall-dlc/

Here's the DLC list in the collection.
Deathsmiles: Full voice expansion pack, Mega Black Label DLC, Mega Black Label Ver. 1.1 DLC, Premium Theme, 5x Icons
Deathsmiles IIX: Music Conents Pack, 2x Premium Theme, 3x Icons
Mushihime-sama: Mushihime-sama Ver 1.5 DLC, Premium Theme, 2x Icons
Mushihime-sama Futari: Black Label DLC, Futari Ver. 1.01 DLC,Premium Theme
DoDonPachi Resurrection: Black Label DLC, Ver. 1.51 DLC, 2x Premium Theme, 6x Icons
DoDonPachi Resurrection Black Label (Ketsuipachi): 2x Icons
Espgaluda II: Premium Theme, 3x Icons
Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets: Cave Matsuri, Premium Theme
Akai Katana: Full voice expansion pack
Guwange: Premium Theme, 2x Icons
Aww I wish I had those full voice packs!
Someone sell them to me for a decent price, please? ( ó wò)

It also mentions 10 discs soundtrack for all games except Guwange, and Official Super Play DVD for: Deathsmiles, Mushihime-sama Futari, Mushihime-sama Futari X Deathsmiles Mega Black Label, Espgaluda II, DoDonPachi Resurrection, DoDonPachi Resurrection Black Label and Akai Katana.

Hm, I guess 29,176 yen ($312) isn't so bad, when taking currency conversion into consideration. ^^;;

Has Cave actually mentioned anything about this? Most everyplace with info on the collection lists the replay DVDs, but only a handful say there's music too.

Yeah, that's a fucking great deal. Too bad I own everything! You'll probably be able to sell this sucker for $1000 in two years' time.

Yes, Cave confirmed this in a recent interview by Famitsu. Here's a link to Blackcloak's translation:

I seriously doubt it. There's no chance they'll be on the actual game discs either.

Impossible. Some of the DLCs actually needed the game to be patched.

Said patches would be installed when you start up the game, per automatic update(s). No cause for concern there, unless you're not connected to Live.

I think the main reason people are interested in the DLC disc is if Xbox Live ever shuts down.

I've checked again it won't let me get any DLC for Mushi Futari. It says that their is no DLC available or some similar message am I doing something wrong? Do I need a Japanese XBL account?

It kills me that I can't afford to splurge on this release. Would love to have those superplays and the on-disc DLC.

They already said that the DLC disc includes all the title updates as well. So all fixes and all bonus content with all the add-ons...

http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/22/ca ... stall-dlc/
Cave Shooting Collection also comes with an install disc, which has every title update, downloadable content, and extra items like themes.

It also says as much on the Cave Japanese blog from which Siliconera pulled all their info.

That plus 10 Soundtracks and 7 Superplays...oh yeah, and there are a few games in there too.

On a side note I guess the infants at the start of this thread have finally gotten over their inability to "understand who they're targeting with this release" and all that nonsense. Real simply this is a definitive collection of everything for 360 (minus the 5pb titles) with everything related to them. So in other words it is a true collector's set...wait a minute...Cave Shooting Collection...now do they get it? One has to wonder, reading is fundamental after all...stunning how confusing this was for everyone...Oh yeah, and I'm buying three sets now thanks to the OST inclusion. Skykid can hit me up for one in a couple years when he can afford to move out of his parent's basement. They'll only be going for a couple grand at that point.

What's with you and being overly condescending for absolutely no reason?

Of course we didn't understand the target market, nothing had been explained other than "all the CAVE games are getting a big rerelease". Now that it's confirmed to have all the DLC and superplay DVDs and all that jazz, I don't think anyone is asking who the target market is.

What do you mean, again? Has it ever not been available? It's misspelled in the XBox Live! website, do a search for "Hutari".
Guess I was right...

They seem to be confusing it with DFK. Notice they list it comes with the 1.51 DLC.
