I've read on Guru's site that u can grab a Naomi Mame rom and convert it into a .dat file to be played on Makaron, and if it runs on Makaron, it will run –even better- on Demul (at least Mamonoro and Radirgy Noah have less glitches on them by using it)
Where's that Illvelo.dat at?

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
If what Guru said was true, you can convert the mame romsets into a .dat creating a .lst file and all that shit, but it looks incredibly difficult to me.
check the 17th April, 2009 post on his blog to see what i'm saying:

Shit yeah! Thanks for pointing that out. My post now edited to remove anything that could be construed as a rom request...Dave_K. wrote:Naughty boy asking for roms.mjclark wrote: Wooh! ...I probably meant "How is that .dat feeling today? What is it's general mood and state of health?" and of course not "Where is it located on the interweb?"

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Another question, Illvelo Mame doesn't work, right? I made the rom check (on that bios thing) and it says some of the roms are wrong.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Definitely and categorically not. There is a post by IseeThings earlier in this thread explaining why not:KAI wrote:Another question, Illvelo Mame doesn't work, right? I made the rom check (on that bios thing) and it says some of the roms are wrong.

@KAI:
It possibly could run, but it probably won't. NAOMI support is spotty and iffy. Possibly broken now, but it's been ages since I checked, last time I tried NAOMI stuff in MAME was when G-NET stuff got emulated [I think. Don't quote me on that.].
And even still, I remember trying Senko no Ronde in MAME and getting 5-20% speed once, and that's one of the less intensive NAOMI games I've seen [based off of it being the only thing I have tried that gets 100% speed in NullDC on my big laptop, compare Border Down [85%] and Ikaruga [DC version 45-75%]].

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Talking about Illvelo - current MAME emulation of that carts type (so called M4-carts) lacks some necessary things.
If someone from MAMEdevs interested in implementing it - contact me and I've explain how it works and that must be done, so at least rom-test worked correctly.
add: the dump itself is good, here is romtest from Demul -

RB seemed to think it used to work in older versions (before it was officially added) but broke along with a number of other Naomi games due to some core changes...

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
well, as I see there are some regressions after OG's work on split romboards SVN R13607 from 23.08.2011IseeThings wrote:post the details and it will be added.

probably OG is missed 5f7034 "M4 cart id" register, and maybe other things was broken.
at least before that commit M4 carts was detected by H-bioses correctly (but romtest still doesn't work, because of lack direct flash chip access).
about RB - I beleave he is already have all necessary info, but have not enough time/will to implement that stuff.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
btw, how about some Christmas gifts ?
how to determine BIOS version in Naomi: go to testmode and at main screen press "Service Coin" button 30+ times - you'll see version of your's Naomi BIOS (all credits goes to CaH4e3)

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
M4 carts have roms+keys right? so the post 2007 naomi games are carts, i see, thats why those carts dumped by Deunan crash on Demul and Makaron.
I will be waiting that new Demul.
Btw, some of the scores of the SH-3 games are not allowed on the scoreboards (even if they are played on Slowpoke v2)
but luckly my Pinksweets score is 1st on the list, hehe.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
runs fullspeed on a dualcore cpu? Guess the "fixes" makes it run better than the slowpoke edition.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Sounds too good to be true. The slowpoke edition, for the record, runs Cave SH3 up to post-Futari 100% on a Dual Core 2.8 Ghz - but Deathsmiles and Pink Sweets/MMP will cark it.
Either way, downloaded before it gets taken offline. Get it while it lasts I suppose.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
just made a quick test with espII , but was slower than slowpoke edition , ran mostly %60-70 for me. But graphical glitches in slowpoke ed. seems to be fixed. Wonder if there are any settings to make it faster.
Tested on my AthlonX2 laptop with 2 gb ram and 256 mb gfx card.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
It probably doesn't use the hacks that the Slowpoke Edition uses (which is why the glitches show up when you have performance issues etc).
I'll have a crack at it now.
EDIT: Yeah, it's not good. It might be slightly better than the MAMEdev original driver but you're better off with Slowpoke edition. It also doesn't have a blitter delay setting. Nice for those who never had performance issues to begin with / care for performance since they've got an i5 / just want autofire or ruin the graphics with Scale2x etc.

Deathsmiles has always run alot better then futari for me, infact futari is like the only one i can't run too well on my computer (while other computers i have access too (i3/i7) of course run all of them fine).BPzeBanshee wrote:Sounds too good to be true. Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
deathsmiles is the 2nd slowest game for me , ibara being the worst , explosions make almost unplayableAntiFritz wrote:Deathsmiles has always run alot better then futari for me, infact futari is like the only one i can't run too well on my computer (while other computers i have access too (i3/i7) of course run all of them fine).BPzeBanshee wrote:Sounds too good to be true. I never had any speed issue with mmp or PS , except few seconds on levels starts. Except that , runs always %100. Strange ?
Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Deathsmiles runs the best for me. Im using the slowpoke 64bit on vista 64bit. Worst is Ibare. First stage is ok, but slows down on boss kill explosions. When the bullets starts to go crazy it slows to a crawl.

Weird, I need to go try it again. Last time I seriously compared Futari was borderline and Deathsmiles was terrible.AntiFritz wrote:Deathsmiles has always run alot better then futari for me, infact futari is like the only one i can't run too well on my computer (while other computers i have access too (i3/i7) of course run all of them fine).BPzeBanshee wrote:Sounds too good to be true. OK, I'm too lazy to read this whole thread. Is Mushihimesama (the original) working in MAME now?

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
it is in 0.143u8 & 0.143u9
