These would qualify for MARP since you don't use autofire, and if using the international version, should be #1 slot. So you should upload them there. Unfortunately the #1 spot with the JPN rom was done at half speed in Mame with 572M...I never understood why that wasn't ever removed since its a cheat. Its so apparent with the replay that there is no bullet herding.

yeah I don't think MARP is managing STG scores very smartly... Everyone plays with autofire, especially for games like Guwange, and older versions of MAME that don't run the game properly should obviously be out. So I don't really care about MARP's ranking I guess. It's too bad they're not doing this properly as it would be a nice place to keep track of records I guess. I'm using the japanese version of DDP, although it wouldn't be hard for me to beat the 1st score for the international version by just switching now, I'm just not interested enough to even do just that :p

Should have gotten to 2-5 and 70M+ but still a good run for me. Don't remember the chain because I forgot to take note of it.

did you know the 2P ships can't continue a chain by laser bombing when they are in Maximum Bonus mode ? That's why I don't play as 2P myself, it can make quite a difference if you use that trick somewhere.

damn! that ruins it for me. i like to play a lot of shmups with the 2p ship and the alternate colors, just to be an odball. I think this trend started when i found an Air Busters machine as a kid and always played as the gold 2p side ship. i wonder if there are other shmups out there where the 2p side gets screwed in some way.

maybe i'll go play more Dangun. ;D

still though, the score is what it is (my personal best in DDP with either the 1p or 2p side). I don't think i'll be topping it any time soon, as i'm hopelessly out of practice at DDP.

2P ships don't have their medal count reset, though, so if you don't plan on continuing the chain with laser bombing, 2P side is still the choice.

Yeah, basically the 2P ship is what you want to use if what you are looking for is a no miss no bomb of both loops up to Hibachi. The bonus it gives you throughout the game is about 5M total. So you could say it's only worth it if you're aiming for world record ^_^

2P's shots do more damage in Giga Wing than 1P...

2P ship in Raiden fires faster than 1P or something

Gekirindan's rank is lowered (or slowed down) on the 2P side, iirc. Also, Raiden DX's P1 and P2 ships have differing vertical / horizontal movement speeds.

excuse me if i'm wrong but i had been wondering this before but how come some of the scores on the older board are higher than on the new one.. e.g

48 MOSQUITO FIGHTER 29'766'490 A-S 1-6 135
49 Crunch 29'629'940 C-S 1-6 286
50 Third_strike 29'249'460

compared with the current standings

49.JHJ - 25'605'890 - C-S - 1-5 - 174

50.bostongeorge - 12,000,000 - A-L - 1-4 - ???

have some players removed there score or something??

ahh i see but even so there were people such as r.g.c and gaijin punch who got bumped off with mebbes higher scores than some of the other people on the board..still i imagine it would be a lot of hassle to go back and check the old thread to see if there were any higher scores that were bumped off ...

Not much of an improvement from my old Saturn-score but at least it moves me up one place.

If your score reaches the top 10, please add an inp to your score!

Didn't record this particular run (first run of the day, didnt excpect to do well...) but here's a 2-5/105M-run I got the credit right after. Hopefully that makes my 106M-score somewhat believeable.
