Alright! I see a charge on my card so hopefully I get the shipping info soon. FedEx works straight through MLK day here I think so I'm hoping early next week if all goes well!

I just had a quick credit on the Japanese PS4 version and surprisingly it's not the current Steam build with the 128 cabs. They somehow missed Double Claw out of the CA ver. of Darius Odyssey digital book too.

When is the DLC coming out? And will they ever update that goddamn official site?

That's not at all what he's saying. He's saying go play a game he apparently likes instead of annoying us with his suckage.qmish wrote:oh, come on! don't bash a nice game because someone who annoys you plays it.amdiggywhut wrote:

Fuck Phantom Castle. It's the only reason I'm not 1CCing the game.
Any tips on how to dodge its homing lasers? I just can't find a way to avoid them consistently. The best I came with is staying still as long as I can and then try to dodge at the last moment, but sometimes some late lasers still hit me. I try to use the burst but it runs out too fast and the damn boss is so tiny and moves around so much.

Moving diagonally seems to be a key element in evading them.Hagane wrote:Fuck Phantom Castle. It's the only reason I'm not 1CCing the game.

Does anyone know if vita's retail version has the new dlc??? Have just ordered it and I'll have to wait 2 weeks or so to try out the game

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Get it the first lasers face and stay stil, move up a little as it launches, this redirects and then move down and diagonally to avoid the rest while looking cool as you do.Hagane wrote:Fuck Phantom Castle. It's the only reason I'm not 1CCing the game.

Yup, that's the best way to actually dodge them. If you're wanting to just get rid of the boss, there's an easier trick. Both forms share HP, so if you just hit the pufferfish in the first form you're doing damage. This way you can kill him very quickly in the second form, or even in the first form if you apply this rather aggressively.

I've gotten some kills on Phantom Castle so fast that it dies before it even gets the chance to shoot anything after it throws off all of its parts

And what's the way to prevent it from going into its second phase before all the parts of its first phase are destroyed? Do you have to dismantle it in a certain order? Most of the time it goes to the second phase before I can deal significant damage and it makes the fight really hard.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
When you destroy an entire side of him, he switches forms. By avoiding doing this you can decide to either wail on the pufferfish, or you can try to go for all parts destroyed. Of course, these aren't mutually exclusive.Hagane wrote:And what's the way to prevent it from going into its second phase before all the parts of its first phase are destroyed? Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
I want to take Chronicle Mode seriously, and I wouldn't mind being stuck with super letterboxing on my single 1080p monitor, but it being "credit-feed to win" except on the "1-Credit Rule" missions is a huge turnoff.
I mean, it makes sense on the arcade version somewhat, as the penalty for continuing is your money. But in the PC and console versions, where you have Free Play, the amount of effort strictly needed to liberate a basic, non-1CC sector is very minimal.
Then again, the same argument could be made for CS mode--lol non-presets and 200 ARM--but at least you kind of have to try, and custom abuse only affects you and not everyone else on the "cabinet".
There's also the matter of multiplayer missions, which basically translates to "tough shit" if you don't have friends to play with. Then again, that's what other players on the cab are for.

I wouldn't mind if they simply removed continues from AC mode. There's already infinite lives mode for pretty much the same purposes, after all.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
Throwing my hat in for removal of continues for AC/Chronicle and some way to get around the multiplayer things for Chronicle. Getting people together for local co-op on any game is difficult these days (cue wistful sigh), let alone getting three other people for a game like this.
Or just make it so I can map all four players to one controller.

Well, it's not just having friends at all, but having friends who both like shmups and can come over to your house.
I can't remember if the co-op missions allow continues, so they might have to also be good at the game as well.

I certainly hope I don't represent everyone somehow, because I have very very few RL friends, and none of them are into STG, so uh...Sly Cherry Chunks wrote:I know I have no friends, but I find it hard to believe that no one on this forum has any friends.CptRansom wrote:some way to get around the multiplayer things for Chronicle.

WOOOOHOOOO
Just finished 1CC route L against Great Thing, huray!
I hadn't had time since the year began to play b/c of IRL situations so it felt so nice to be able to pick up where I left off.
All routes 1CC Clear!
Onto EX mode!

I have some local friends who are into shooties as well, but I don't feel like making them go out of their way to come to my house a bunch of times.Sly Cherry Chunks wrote:I know I have no friends, but I find it hard to believe that no one on this forum has any friends.CptRansom wrote:some way to get around the multiplayer things for Chronicle.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (STEAM/PS4/Vita)
I did the final mission again using the Next ship I bought. And I barely managed to defeat Gigantic Bite because I had no armor left, and no lives left either. And right at the last minute, I managed to defeat it again. I wonder if there's a way to keep the ships' upgrades permanently? Or do I have to keep grinding?

It's too hard for me to beat it without buying. I'm afraid I can't do that.
