If they're considering games that never left the other side of the Pacific, I rather hope Crisis Force is one of them...

The good news is that there's already been some precedent for out-of-original-region releases, mostly from Hudson. Next Monday's release of Battle Lode Runner in NA is one example, and apparently Europe has already gotten a couple of PCE games that hadn't originally been released there.

(I thought I had read somewhere that North America inexplicably got the Japanese version of Tecmo Bowl, but now I can't find where.)

I am very excited about the release of Battel Load Runner - The game was slated for a USA release but it never happened (Turbo was at death then  ). I WILL get it just to show Nintendo support for out of region games on the Wii.

I am understanding the Tecmo Bowl is "edited" (thanks ea crap  ) so if Japan Tecmo Bowl didn't have NFL Players* and NFL Teams* then it make sense that the Tecmo Bowl on USA Wii could be Japan version.

*F U ea - I used NFL in my post go ahead sue me bitches

V-Force

Here's an online flash shmup called V-Force. Click on the V-Force icon here:

http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/

Or you can go directly to the game here:

http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/g2/v-force.htm

The first link shows over forty other flash games. This site is a personal fav and it's been fun to move from the mouse to the Wiimote to play 'em.

Looks like Gradius III might come on the VC soon! I'll probably pick that up when ever it comes out.

I bought Soldier Blade and Gradius so far on VC, lots of fun. I really hope they add some arcade titles to VC; I know SNK is gunna release Neo Geo games so there's a definite chance of arcade games too. Dodonpachi anyone?

I think we have a greater chance of seeing more modern arcade shooters like DDP on XBL than on VC. A game like DDP would be better on XBL, anyway (leader boards, online multiplayer, etc.). However, the idea of playing Neo Geo games on the Wii makes me especially happy, although I am a bit worried about pricing. Nintendo has been testing the waters with the occasional high priced game (TMNT is a recent example). As long as they don't exceed 1000 points per title, I think we'll be in good shape.

The sad thing is, verts like DDP are going to be pretty weak without a tate option. Still better than GTA 4 or whatever, but...

Unless it's a very good yoko, unlike the home ports. I found the yoko modes on CCC and CCC2 (both collections are from the company that does many of the XBLA emulations, Digital Eclipse) to be pretty good myself, though they still should have had the option for tate.

To this day I still don't mind the yoko mode of ESpgaluda =) Dodonpachi was the first game I ever played tate, and ddp was actually the reason I tried it in the first place. I'd played bunches of DC shooters like Ikaruga and Mars Matrix, and had started to get into some Saturn stuff, like Souky (which is Yoko designed anyways), and was quite satisfied with yoko mode; but when I got Dodonpachi, I played it for about half an hour and thought to myself "good fuck, this needs to be tated doesn't it?" I got a friend to bring over an old crappy TV he took from work that was going to be thrown away, flipped it on its side, and after a ghetto degaussing to fix the discoloration.... Viola! Dodonpachi the way it was meant to be played! Oh man it's soooooo nice tate =) I still just play all my PS2 shooters on a big screen in yoko, and all my Dreamcast shooters on a VGA monitor in yoko.

I haven't bought it (still have my SNES cart). But I'd be surprised if they removed the slowdown since other VC titles, particuarly SNES ones, still have slowdown intact.

Yeah, Super Mario World has some massive slowdown in the swimming levels.

Super Star Soldier is pretty fun. I really wish Nintendo would bring over the MSX so I can play Aleste again.

Blazing Lazers has been confirmed in NA and Europe for May. Also in May, NA will get Ordyne while Japan and Europe get Air Zonk.

(Japan hasn't got Gradius 3 yet, but they did get Gradius 2 FC.)

It is for North Americans. I like it so far even if you have to spend money to upgrade.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Dead Moon has been announced for a June release in Europe and NA. I'd never heard of it, but the screens I could find look kind of like a Darius ripoff.

Dead Moon was brought to us by Natsume.

The game is horizontal scroller and is similar to Darius style game play. even has boss battles like Darius where you are swicth directions when at boss battles. Also employs the use of 'bombs' - unusual for a horizontal. Speed is adjust by pausing and then select speed in pause menu. Good music too!

Is a good solid game and does nice paralax scrolling for TG16 :D

Dead Moon has been announced for next Monday in NA and the 8th in Europe.

Air Zonk seems to have been pulled from Europe's schedule at the last minute and doesn't seem to be coming in June either.
