Talon is the man
Also, I think he's going to wait til the DLC comes out for Daifukkatsu before uploading a title update since the new DLC might include an update as well. All Title Updates are cumulative so when the end of feb rolls around and black label comes out, it would be a good time to get the update for that as well.

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Thanks Talon for the share, but was wondering how do I use the files

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
What does this do, exactly?

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
You put the two folders into the root of your Xbox HDD, start up the game, patch will install.
Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Oh, I was reading about this yesterday.
It's a patch for the game for jtagged consoles, right? So basically, it fixes the loading times, but you can't view the leaderboards, upload scores, and download replays?
I mean, it's a nice thought, but it defeats the purpose of the 360 port. You might as well just play Black Label in MAME instead.

I thought there was an issue with rank or something in BL? Or has that been fixed now?Elixir wrote:Oh, I was reading about this yesterday.

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
This fixes every glitch that the game had upon launch, which means it fixes (to a degree) the load times so they are much quicker, fixes many graphical glitches, fixes issues with x mode (boss patterns have been readjusted which is why the online leaderboards have been reset since the game is a different version now), fixes the issue with the last achievement that some people couldn't get because it wouldn't unlock, fixes the ratio adjustment and filtering, and ultimately makes the game much more enjoyable and playable. Theres a laundry list of something like 22 glitches that this addresses plus a few others.
This is not for jtags per se, it's just useful for people with jtags because they can't get online. This is the official patch which any person can install provided they have a way to access their hard drive (xsata connector, taking the hdd apart and plugging into a sata port on your hard drive, etc).

X-Mode is unlocked right away though. You can't play that in MAME.Elixir wrote:I mean, it's a nice thought, but it defeats the purpose of the 360 port. You might as well just play Black Label in MAME instead.

Decided to disassemble my hard drive this morning, connected it to my pc and used the Xplorer360 and noticed a few partitions, any idea which partition I am to add it to?xybur wrote:This fixes every glitch that the game had upon launch, which means it fixes (to a degree) the load times so they are much quicker, fixes many graphical glitches, fixes issues with x mode (boss patterns have been readjusted which is why the online leaderboards have been reset since the game is a different version now), fixes the issue with the last achievement that some people couldn't get because it wouldn't unlock, fixes the ratio adjustment and filtering, and ultimately makes the game much more enjoyable and playable. Was in a rush and tried adding to the partition 2, and quickly put the drive (without the screws) on my xbox and booted it up, and I believe my data may be gone. My question to that is if its really gone?

Yep I'm waiting for the dlc to come out just in case there's another patch.xybur wrote:Talon is the man

It should be under partition 2 but in some cases I believe I've also seen it under partition 3 depending on the software being used to access the HDD. You should only need to add the files to your current cache folder and game folder and it should work just fine like the others are saying. If all of your data is gone you could have accidentally formatted the drive somehow5tranger wrote:Decided to disassemble my hard drive this morning, connected it to my pc and used the Xplorer360 and noticed a few partitions, any idea which partition I am to add it to?

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Thanks, I'll try messing around later again
Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Partition 2 is the backwards compatibility portion of the drive. Original Xbox games pull from that portion of the drive when running the backwards compat stuff.
Partition 3 is the main xbox 360 drive. In there, put the Title Update (TU) file in the CACHE folder. http://www.mediafire.com/?5wxa5yd5s41ahqa is just the TU file by itself. Xplorer should be able to read from partition 3 just fine. However if you used the wrong version of the program (i.e. you have a 250 gb drive and were not using the specially modified 250 gb version of the program) there is a good chance that you have reformatted your hard drive. I think standard xplorer program has the ability to read from 20 and 60 gb drives, there is a version for 120gb drives and a version for 250 gb drives.
Ps. The only other partition is Partition 0 which you should not modify in any way, its the boot sector.

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Alright, so I came home from school and reassembled the drive properly this time and my data was still there
Then the next problem was finding a Xplorer360 that could work with my 60gb drive (many didn't, finally found one though)
and injected the cache folder contents to my drive and the 465607D2 folder to my root drive of the partition 3, is that correct? I noticed better loading times but its still a bit slow
is that the general consensus about the new load time?

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
There definitely still are load times, the initial load time is somewhat lengthy (although its been about cut down by half), but going from menu to menu, and between menu to mode and back again is considerably faster (3-4 seconds instead of double digit wait times). The menus themselves are also more responsive and it doesn't take a minute to load up a different game mode.
That's not the only thing the patch addressed though, there were several game breaking glitches, and nuisance glitches that got addressed as well. And you get X mode for free if you never bothered unlocking it before.
The only file you had to really move was the: TU_135C1UI_0000008000000.0000000000082 file into the CACHE folder of Partition 3. All the other stuff was extraneous and you didn't have to put it on your drive.

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
So these can't be uploaded via USB, similar to a dashboard update?

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
5pb mentioned on their site they had an option to distribute the patch via a USB key. If someone on the Japan side of things could take them up on that offer and image the USB drive they send, that would probably be a lot easier than the hoops being jumped through in this thread.
IMO, the easiest way to tell that the patch is installed, without measuring load times, is checking the graphics at the main menu - post-patch, the graphics are much, much lower resolution than before.

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Is it not possible to just download this through the normal XBL processes if you have a JPN account and system?

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
You don't even need a Japanese account. This is for people that for reasons I don't understand, have been blocked from XBL.98PaceCar wrote:Is it not possible to just download this through the normal XBL processes if you have a JPN account and system?

(runs off to fire up the 360 and dload the patch, finally!!)
Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
They can't access Live because they've been banned for having a modified console and have been caught playing burned copies online.Thjodbjorn wrote:You don't even need a Japanese account. Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Or people that have a Jtag console to play Import originals and can't go on-line because they will be banned on the spot !

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Pretty much - not everyone who mods does it to play copies or cheat or whatever. There are people who do it just to play legitimate import games.
Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
Hi all,
Just wanted to clear this up, as maybe other users are wondering too:
If I live outside Japan (in my case, UK) but have a genuine Japanese Xbox (not j-tag), will this patch download if I simply insert the disc while the Japanese Xbox is connected to the internet with a UK I.P. address?
If not, do I need to log in to Xbox Live with a Japanese account, or can I log in with my existing UK account?
Do I actually need to spoof a Japanese I.P. to get it?
Thanks

There's a whole thread for this in the hardware section.

Re: Dodonpachi Daioujou Patch
OK have you got a link, as Google brought me to this thread and others may end up here?
If not a link, then a straight answer would also be cool.
