Few days back, Darius arcade was my first No Miss clear =D

I mean, I know no-missing it is perhaps easier than clearing the game after a recovery, but I've also done that so..

Also managed to 1cc Ikaruga steam edition last night (normal mode), I was having a lot of trouble playing the game with a stick and joy2key: ie, none of my Dreamcast pad muscle memory to help me out.

Y'know it seems to me like muscle memory has a lot more storage space than concious memory..

I started playing pretty much on Saturday at SCR and got deep into stage 5 before blowing my last 2-3 lives (...and still got a higher score than this run with less/no understanding of the scoring system). Bought the BL DLC on Sunday and here we are.

Regardless though, very few things have made my heart race like this did facing the TLB, the atmosphere, the music, the pressure, everything. I hope to stream sometime soon and try to get to the TLB with a good score 2B+ at least...

I'd love to see a stream or video! I'm nearly getting the 'autobomb-off' 1st loop clear, but I need a strategy for the stage 3 boss that doesn't destroy me (I currently have no strategy, other than 'bomb spam', which leaves me in no fit state for the clear).

Was your 2-ALL autobomb-on or autobomb-off? Either way, I'd love to see it!

Unless the game's been patched and I somehow didn't know about it, there's no autobombs on Hell mode, so obviously he did it without. And IIRC, the Autobomb setting is just normal difficulty with autobombs.

any chance of upping it to Normal or Hard? I don't think Normal would be too much harder than Easy, but the revenge bullets would definitely make it tougher.

Congrats man, must have led to a pretty epic score. What course did you take? Auto? Some of those captures are a real pain in the ass, but if you can get them all and clear it will do wonders for the score. No bomb would be a bitch. I still bomb my way through Neon Light Illusion every time. I can never seem to avoid his first pattern and those yellow homing lasers.

10 mil, the most common route ending with risk storage with auto. For the longest time I would have a perfect run until I had to fight him, its that stupid unpredictable tail trapping me in a corner.

You should upload that score to the high score thread, it puts you in the top ten My no-miss was only 8 million, though I missed most of the captains and was pretty conservative with the rank control.

You should try out the auto-off clear too; if you can no-miss auto-on you should definitely be able to at least clear auto-off, and it will toughen you up a bit for future auto-on score runs if you want to keep pushing your way up the ladder.

To add to the Darius "Feel the Love" moment, a few days ago I also 1CC'd Darius Gaiden for the second time, taking out Vermillion Coronatus. As Coronatus was the first Darius Gaiden boss I ever beat roughly 3 years ago, so it was a nice feeling of full-circle finally taking him down. I really bomb-spammed like a sissy though. I didn't care how many lives I lost as long as I used every single bomb to bring that sea horse down.

^Think of it this way though, the fact that you had enough resources to bomb spam him meant you kicked the living shit out of the rest of the game. I would have bomb spammed him too, no shame.

I'm planning to learn the Great Thing course in Gaiden soon, but unfortunately save states are jacked in the mame version, so I'll have to do it the old fashioned way on Saturn with billions of resets. Is there a version of mame where Gaiden save states actually work?

Ha ha, thanks for the compliment. I didn't die until the final stage, I believe, when I lost my shield as popcorn enemies overwhelmed me. I was nervous enough at that point to just hammer on the bomb button in order to damage the boss as quickly as possible.

I don't know about the MAME version, because I only play the saturn port.

Well technically it did take you two credits, but yeah at first I read it as clearing the game using a single continue. Double play is a common term so I'd use that.

Muchi Muchi Pork version 1.01 up to 2-4 after not playing for nearly a year.

I think I had gotten my original 1-all to 2-2 after not playing for nearly a year(the game, not shmups in general like this time). At this rate maybe by not playing for a while, I'll 2-all . Okay, I know that actually wouldn't work, but maybe I should actually practice the game to get better at survival. That second loop is pretty hard.

Just cleared the bottom course of Darius Force. Recovery may be unfair, but I've already beaten the lord and master of unfair recovery, Darius II, so this game didn't pose much of a threat in comparison. Despite the flaws I really like this game. A lot more interesting that Twin imo.

Whatever you call it, that's amazing! I so enjoy Double Play (mainly in the Raiden serious, but I've never come anywhere near a 1CC/2CC/DPCC/whateverit'scalledCC). Great work!

Oh. I'd missed that it was a Hell 2-ALL. It doesn't mention that in ResumeDPosition's original post (or does the TLB only appear in Hell mode, and that gives away that it was a Hell 2-ALL)?

Not exactly much of an accomplishment, but bear with me, because I'm a serious n00b at shmups, but I got a Gunbird 2 Child difficulty level 1cc a few days ago with Morrigan. On the plus side, it only took me like four tries.

gunbird 2 arcade is INSANELY hard. like after stage 3 you basically have to know where to position your ship at all times or you will just die to fast ass bullets. never tried the child mode though lol
