Played them all, from the very first on the NES, to The Minish Cap. While I love Link To The Past very dearly and have fond memories wasting months of my life on my SNES with it, my absolute favourite is Ocarina Of Time. Purely for the total experience, one of the most complete games ever created.
Looking forward to The Twilight Princess when it comes out.
What's your favorite Zelda game?

i made sure i didn't read everyone's posts before i voted and i still went with the 'should be an underdog but actually my favourite that everyone has'. link's awakening is for me a first rpg-esque action game that had me entertained for hours, even if the story actually made less sense than an lsd trip. however i also did love alttp and wind waker. ocarina of time just didn't float my boat though and i can't be arsed to put in the hours to get back to where i'd got to.
i think i'm going to try and track down link's awakening again, dx or normal. i'll have to get a gameboy for it too though as i only have a ds booo

It makes total sense, to me. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people can't tell the difference between their favorites and their "bests."MadSteelDarkness wrote:I voted for the original. It's not the best of the series, but it is my favorite, if that makes any sense.
I voted for The Adventure of Link. While I played both NES games at a young age, and both are among my most treasured gaming experiences, it's the second one that sticks with me a bit more in the end. As Sethsez wrote, it might be wrong to vote for it because my memories are so nostalgically biased, but...I voted before I read his post. Either way, it shouldn't really matter in a poll about favorites...if we were voting for the best game of the series, then it would be extremely important.
On top of the two NES games, I've had great experiences playing through Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past. I haven't been able to get into Ocarina or the two Oracle games, and haven't tried much of the others. But Ocarina is on my list of must-plays.
You really should play the rest of Link to the Past, it's excellent. The game doesn't really pick up until the fourth dungeon or so. Everything prior is still tutorial territory in a way.pablo wrote:Links awakening. Overall feeling and complexity for a gameboy game still surprises me. Alot more interesting story than Lttp I believe, having played that game for about an hour or two I can only base that on the introduction and such.
