Ketsui is just as fanservic-y as anything else they've made, just targeted at a different audience. If you are really really turned off by the fanservice it probably isn't going to work for you even with the changes, since the character designs in general are fanservice. You can turn off the cut-ins but you can't turn off all of the character art in the game. I would still call the AC update fanservic-y, just not borderline eroge like the 360 game.

Based on the general content of the game, I very much doubt that Ketsui's character designs were a directed attempt by Cave to court female audiences. Not to mention that they are given little screen time, display no real nudity, and have no voice acting.

Caladrius AC toned down the nudity because it would be played in a public setting. The same reason that I-No's Japanese swearing is bleeped out in some versions of Guilty Gear XX.

I own the 360 version and I am not sure if I'll be buying this one. Dunno if the extra content worths it since the game is so bland.

My point is that Ketsui is as much an Otaku game as any of Cave's other shit. You either get prettyboys or moe girls, but it's all just anime tropes. If people have a problem with animu bullshit they should go play Triangle Service games. It's better than Cave's stuff anyhow.

I don't really get why people think it's so bland, the weapon system in it is extremely deep. My only worry about the new one is how they changed scoring in AC. I prefer the original multiplier system.

Sucks that Raiden IV Overkill isn't even getting a physical relase anywhere but I've got my PSN account loaded and ready to jump on this ASAP.

Many of the Cave releases for Xbox also offer an amazing value for money with all their extra modes. Particularly Death Smiles, Akai Katana, and SDOJ stand out.

Actually, though stumped to find concrete info, its actually next month, the main site and its PV shows a release of 4/24, instead on 4/15 for JP, still on track for 4/29 for US.

If I'm not mistaken, the Japanese version only came with the soundtrack disc included.

Japanese Xbox 360 Raiden IV purchases made through the INH shop also came with a mini-DVD that contained the "Raiden IV SECRET FILE" PDF (with Raiden IV art, weapon, enemy attack power and damage databases - images for the DVD and soundtrack CD covers were also included). UFO localized that file along with the game - however the download code was exclusive to Game Stop purchases (RaidenIV_SecretFile.pdf).
It also should be noted that the NA soundtrack had track 9 ("Tragedy flame (LEVEL4)") clipped from 2:54 to 1:30 - which is peculiar as the soundtrack in the Japanese 360 release didn't have that problem. The unmolested soundtrack is also included in the N-pro Raiden IV superplay (right now still available on rancor's site).
