E1000, the one I mentioned. I actually went ahead and bought one but have not tried it yet.

Doesn't the E1000 have vital features missing like Wi-Fi and stereo sound?

There's a bunch of little tradeoffs in the E1000. I haven't used one, but this seems to be a good tear-down of all the differences:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digit ... 000-review

- no front-panel LCD brightness button
- fatter, flimsier-feeling construction, UMD drive feels more prone to breakage
- screen doesn't have the interlaced look, nor the "wide color gamut" option of the PSP 3000 (I personally leave this on all the time), but there is a dithering effect, 'noisy vertical strips in some backgrounds' and a "screen door effect" (i.e., more dead space around pixels)

Sounds interesting. I'd like to pick one up sometime, probably.

I would like to amend what I've said before about the interlacing effect of the PSP 3000 - while it doesn't get me killed in games, I notice it easily while just panning the camera around in Daxter. It won't show up much in a sidescroller like Ultimate GnG, or a flick-screen game like God Of War: Chains, and it wasn't a big deal playing The 3rd Birthday, but it is still there.

Those things are vital? Are you joking?

I think it's better just to give the summary and let the questioner decide

Without having seen the screen in action, I couldn't say which I would like more. I will say that the screen door effect can be hideously annoying, or it can go unnoticed - depends on the game to some effect, I think.

Actually I was responding to the post above yours, WiFi and stereo sound I could not care any less about.

My PSP was almost exclusively used for online games, so yes, I consider Wi-Fi vital.

Did a side by side of the E1000 and 2000. The 2000's screen actually has better colours but the E1000 seemed to have less motion blur, but dont quote me on that.

Anywaste, I only got the E1000 as a backup for posterity so I am happy.

Any PSP online game is dead by now, as are wireless networks you can connect a PSP to (it does not support WPA2).

It is just a worse version of a 2000, so I don't see why you would want one anyway, but online isn't the main issue. Size, no option for extended batteries and less dedicated buttons for functions (that's also rebindable to homebrew) is.

Wow, this is hilarious.

If anyone read my older post, the PSP I got was good, but the battery was swollen. Couldn't use it.

So, I bought an official Extended Life Battery. It's swollen even more!

I have to return it now. Good lord!
