current favorite albums
Just picked up the albums "Terminate Damnation" from Becoming the Archetype & "The Triptych" by Demon Hunter. Awesome CD's of molten metal. I also finally picked up Living Sacrifice's last CD, "Conceived In Fire" - also an awesome album. The other albums I'm spinning quite a bit are:
The Showdown - "A Chorus of Obliteration"
Zao - "Funeral Of God"
He Is Legend - "I Am Hollywood"

I am in 'electronica' music mood at the moment:
Juno Reactor - Shango
Fluke - Puppy
Underworld - 1992 - 2002
Susumu Yokota - Sakura
Otherwise it's:
Doves - Some Cities
Jeff Wayne - War of the Worlds Musical
Coldplay - X and Y
San Bao - The Road Home OST

KARMA TO FUCKING BURN. First S/T LP. Been digging through some of my older stuff this week, and stumbled across this little beauty. I'd call it stoner, but it's too textured, varied and inventive to be stoner. Heavier than Kyuss, more swagger than Monster Magnet, and more attitude than Down. How these guys never hit it big will always remain a complete mystery to me. If you're into heavy and you've never heard these guys you're missing out, trust me.

Dude how is Fuckemos' new stuff? I just now ordered Can Kill You. I had forgotten about these guys. My old roommate was Zeke's tour manager and always had the craziest stories to tell about Fuckemos. He had Can Kill You and I'd listen to it every day. I lost touch with that guy and would have forgotten about Fuckemos altogether if it weren't for 2 Punk 2 Fuck sneaking into my brain randomly once a year or so.
You got good taste.

Many thanks, Pa. Coming from you, that is a great compliment.PaCrappa wrote:Dude how is Fuckemos' new stuff? I just now ordered Can Kill You. I had forgotten about these guys. Heh: "They say my haircut is a thing of the past, and my erections never last..." Ahhh, good stuff.
I've got to admit that I haven't heard anything new from them in a while. Seems like I heard a song from them a couple of years ago, and it was pretty metal. But then again, I might have been high. The last time I saw them was 2002-ish, and they mostly played stuff from Can Kill You. Russell (and possibly another Fuckemo or two), had a side project called U.S.S. Friendship that I saw a year later, and it was a lot more metallic, but with the typical Russell strangeness, natch. I liked it. Hmmm, perhaps it's time to cruise down to Sound on Sound and see if either band has anything new out. I'll report back later.
Thanks A.K. It's funny, but a while back I went and counted which were the top three artists that I had the most albums/singles by, and it broke down to:Muslimgauze - Gulf Between Us
Nice choice.
1. John Coltrane
2. Sonic Youth
3. Muslimgauze
He was pretty prolific, wasn't he?

Anyone got Kate Bush's new album? Liked the single, wondering if it's worth a listen.

Yeah, he has a pretty intense amount of output. Too bad we'll never see anything new by him, though, still an absurd amount of stuff to collect.MadSteelDarkness wrote: Thanks A.K. Let's see...
Rhapsody - Power of the Dragonflame
Sonata Arctica - Songs of Silence (live in Tokyo)
Dragonforce - Sonic Firestorm
Yes, I'm in a very speed/power metal mood.
On a side note, Sonata Arctica will be in North Amercia early next year - particularly, in Fort Worth on 02/15/06!!!

I love "Your Turn to Run." I put it on the post-punk mix.professor ganson wrote:Only listened to bits of it, but easily among the best German pop/indie-rock I've heard. Thrash Me is a great song. If you have favorite tracks from this, please post.Rob wrote:Malaria! - Compiled 1981-1984

An odd mix at the moment:
The Cramps - Bad Music for Bad People
John Coltrane - The John Coltrane Quartet Plays...
Big Black - The Rich Man's Eight Track Tape (CD version of Atomizer, plus a couple of singles)
Doom - The Peel Sessions
Mr. Dibbs - Turntable Scientifics (mixtape)
Rachel's - Selenography
Squarepusher - Music is Rotted One Note
Willie Nelson - The Red-Headed Stranger
V/A - Nervous Hip Hop (Nervous records compilation)
EDIT: Pa, I never did find out if the Fuckemos or USS Friendship had anything newish out. I'll make it a point to putter over to my local (two blocks over) record shop and see soon.

Years ago, I had mp3s of Lost Wishes, which I gather was basically a four-track EP of Wish outtakes sent only to fanclub members. Any chance those made it on this compilation, or have they literally been lost to all but The Chosen? (Nothing I'm seeing on the list on Amazon rings a bell, but it's been so long.)bloodflowers wrote:Even their B-sides and rarities set has more A class tracks on it than most bands release in their lifetime.

Arab on Radar - Yahweh or the Highway -- I thought I already mentioned this, but couldn't find it. Classic.
Erase Errata - At Crystal Palace
Eno - Taking Tiger Mountain
Also, the Burzum track "War" about 20 times.
