Blue Wish Resurrection Plus - Possible with No "Wait"?
Interesting observation on slowdown, BWR Plus
I've played Blue Wish Resurrection Plus now for over 2 years, and the entire time, I have never turned "wait" option off, always assuming the "accel" option was the only thing I needed to turn on to keep the game and framerate fast, and "hard." But upon turning it off, I noticed there was no arcade slowdown of the game. Something extraordinary happened. I scored higher, like massively higher, on a single run 2 times in a row than I have in months playing the game.
Slowdown, while it may seem to be a crutch, making the game "easier", was actually hurting me.
That's cause my brain and hands were already navigating a path through the bullets relative to the normal speed in which they were flying on screen, and slowdown maybe causes a delay in user reaction time, because now your brain and hands must now re-navigate and re-compensate for the slowdown. Slower speed may be great for first learning bullet patterns, like the slow mode in Ikaruga, but for playing the games, I prefer speed, and a crisp framerate.
I've also found, which is pretty obvious, that as my pc/laptop's processors over time got progressively better, I was pleasantly surprised that MAME shmups played faster and smoother, and I have progressively gotten better, as my games got faster. Currently I have a laptop with a 2nd gen Intel i3 w/ 8 Gigs of RAM.
Just an interesting thought I wanted to share.

Blue Wish Resurrection Plus - Possible with No "Wait"?
I originally posted the following in strategy:
Is the game possible to beat/play with the "wait" option, or slowdown, off? All the replays I see are with the bullets noticeably slow.
I love this game, and I like to beat shmups on normal, no handicap modes.
Currently I'm attempting to play it on Wait Off, Accel On, and the Autoshot mapped to my primary fire button.
And if you haven't played BWR Plus, I think its one of the all time greats of doujin shmups.
Absolutely phenomenal.
But I think I posted this too soon, as I began getting crushed during the final stages, and this is only on the first loop.I've played Blue Wish Resurrection Plus now for over 2 years, and the entire time, I have never turned "wait" option off, always assuming the "accel" option was the only thing I needed to turn on to keep the game and framerate fast, and "hard." Yessir. Somehow I had been playing with wait off as far as I can remember and actually thought that that was supposed to be how it was. I remember though that I got my copy with TLB Practice and all ships unlocked though, so whoever gave it to me had wait off.
Best accident ever.

Re: Blue Wish Resurrection Plus - Possible with No "Wait"?
The original BWR has no wait whatsoever, not even the amount that remains even after setting Wait to off in BWR+, so the entire game runs at 60 FPS.

The wait seems to go berserk on Windows 8. No matter what I do, the game won't run faster than 30fps.

I was having an issue like this with eXceed 3rd and Kega Fusion until I used this. http://steamcommunity.com/app/207400/di ... 230217940/Pteriforever wrote:The wait seems to go berserk on Windows 8. No matter what I do, the game won't run faster than 30fps.
Hopefully that helps.

Re: Interesting observation on slowdown, BWR Plus
I'll also merge this with your previous BWR topic.

Thanks bulletmagnet....
I figured someone would pull it from strategy eventually.
Well now that I know other people don't play with wait on, guess my next challenge is the wait off 1cc... I've just been playing for score.
Right now I can get the extra player on standard continue before stage 3

The Compatibiltiy Administrator program glitches out and won't save the database ever >_< Thanks anyway though
EDIT: Managed to get it to run using that program's "test" feature ^.^ Not ideal, but hey, it works
