Sega Saturn & XBox360 converter to PS2 for Viletim

Post by Gingerzilla »

Hello All,
getting pretty excited about the delivery of my Viletim Console to Jamma for my Egret II.
All the SCART cables are easy to track down but the controller converters are a different thing all together.
First off I'm just am not happy with the pad hack route as it is messy and I am crap at electronics. So I would prefer simple pug in and play setup.

First is...
I was hoping to get a Saturn Joystick Converter from Tototek but it seems they are all out of stock :-(
Does anybody know about another converter for Sega Saturn to PS2?

Second is...
What is the best Xbox 360 joystick converter to PS2 to go for?
I'm a little confused as they seem to be PS2 to Xbox360 not the other way around. Does that matter?

Cheer

I suggest you get the ps1/2 expansion board for the viletim adapter as shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwPAdF3cXuc. Just drop him an email for the board and I am sure he can sort you out. As far as controller conversion goes, most companies makes ps1/2 to XXXconsole not the other way round, so its best to try to find those converters instead. I have tested the ps1/2 expansion board on various converters and it always work (including the tricky ps1/2 to xbox1 converters that requires the analog type ps pcbs) plus it is fully customisable so you can assign buttons and directions anywhere on the control panel also autofires too :) .

Good luck and enjoy the kit!

You could also enlist the services of Lemony Vengeance who wires padhacks inside project boxes for a nice and clean plug and play set-up. I have the PS360+ one and it works with viletim's "Controller board 2: Pass through JAMMA."
More info on his pad hacks: HERE

I have tested with the converter in your first link and it works well. Shop around for a better price though...

For the PS2 to xbox 360 use one of these, they work great

For the PS2 to Saturn I have a Keio adapter I made that is for sale. It has worked with every converter I have tried, including the above mentioned. No input lag what so ever.

I saw this on Ebay. I was not too sure this worked with Viletim's device.
If it does work well with it I will buy it for sure.

The reason I'm a bit all over the place is that I have not received my Viletim yet so I'm not 100% understanding my needs.
But good news is that it is in the mail (Thanks Tim!).
