Wow, that's pretty cool! Sadly, I'm not as interested in Korean games as some others here are (system11?
), but it's a very interesting and cool situation

So cool.We (the MAME development team) were recently contacted by a se yong Jang, informing us that he was the main programmer of another Oriental Soft game ‘X2222′ and that he would like to see it emulated.
Also it looks kinda sweet

G Stream 2020 was a pleasant surprise, so I'd love to check this one out.

I tried to like Korean games, but they're just too crappy for me

Stolen Psikyo assets? Yup, we're in K-shmup territory all right. Still morbidly curious how it plays, though emphasis on the "morbidly" part.

Interesting news indeed! I already posted on the blog, but here's hoping they can figure out how to get the Hyperstone .hye file converted to a .bin.
Actually, I wonder if maybe Fujino would be feeling the love and be able to help out. He certainly has a way to get .hyes going for sure going from his development videos. Anyone fluent in Japanese feel like giving it a go?

I imagine if you find the Hyperstone compiler lying around (I'm sure it exists, who knows if it's on torrent sites or is free), you can probably make that shit out binary files. Worst case, someone has to RE an executable format, but I doubt it'd be that tough.

Re: X2222 prototype (Oriental Soft, G-Stream like hardware)
Someone posted what seems to be documentation of such a program (it said it outputted .hex but stated as binary files, are they the same?) but could not find a download link on Hyperstone's website. Perhaps one has to register with them to obtain it?

.hex iirc is just essentially an s-record file. Nothing special, easily convertible to a flat binary.
