Net neutrality is dead. What's next? TPP!
Big government and big content are trying to screw us, in secrecy, with fast track and no lube. Worse than SOPA? You bet.

Yes, because that worked so well for net neutrality.Specineff wrote:Maybe you'll want to contact your representatives and tell them to stop this crap?
They're going to make it happen and no one can do anything to stop it. People will have to learn to cope with the continual creep of government and corporate regulation over the internet, and hackers will find new workarounds like they always have.
A decade from now, US internet access will most likely be facilitated through universal accounts tied to one's citizenship, similar to what South Korea currently has in place. There will be no hope of anonymity through any sanctioned channels.

Re: Net neutrality is dead. What's next? TPP!
Don't get desperate yet. Net Neutrality wasn't struck down; the FCC got told that it needed to have a consistent legal position. NN can return, if the FCC cleans things up. There's a lot of people at the FCC who are quite committed to keeping NN going, and also it needs to be said that at least a number of the largest internet service providers are stuck with agreements to follow the NN principle for some years to come, even if the FCC doesn't rewrite the rules to bring back NN.
No doubt some of the usual suspects are in favor of TPP as well, but here I think it makes just as much sense to actually get behind trying to make a fuss. TPP seems to be just bad policy all the way around, with benefits for only a few already-privileged groups, and a fair amount for ordinary people (and even governments) to lose. But certainly I think it's not really useful to try to lump this in with NN. We're not going to go blow up the bad guys, even though they keep bringing the same nonsense repeatedly; as they used to say in the 19th century, "eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."

I think a message needs to be sent. Like some Senators and congress people might get booted from office.
1. Companies like Disney should never get anybodies business, including anybody related to Disney.
2. People should not buy smart phones, any more.
3. Paying for something you can never own, like DLC, should be abolished.
4. Of all things our privacy, meaning I do not affect a persons life at all by using the internet.
5. Patriot Act...............they abuse this act.
Ever wonder what the world would look like, if their was no god? I bet that is what they want, a godless world, without no law and order, because without god, none of this would matter at all. I miss when America's greatest enemy was communism, and they would make us march to the bomb-shelter, or even hide under our desks. These laws are just made to put officers to get paid. These laws are not made to protect you. Self-control is the only protection we really have, along with respect for your fellow man.

RegalSin's post reminded me of something else that I think is relevant to the point I made earlier, which is "there's always something happening:"
http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2014/01/25/ ... r-privacy/
Yes, it's Fox News, but Kim Komando writes a pretty good piece here. The argument that this ruling needs to be overturned, later if not immediately, is pretty obvious. Then again, we've had lamely argued exceptions to the Fourth Amendment, under the "reduced expectation of privacy" prong of the Katz test, since the mid-20th century. This happens even though the Fourth Amendment clearly intends to make a person and their effects (and papers, or, by extension, a laptop) are secure against unwarranted searches, not by degree, but absolutely.

Re: Net neutrality is dead. What's next? TPP!
Just to keep things simple and not write a big block of text. God laws are the only real laws, without god their is no law. Man might make laws, but these laws are dependent on god laws. By creating inhuman laws, you create inhuman people who are capable of committing even more volatile acts, that can even be considered beyond inhuman even for human nature.
Right now, we have a couple of problems with privacy, like internet privacy, the patriot ( right ) act, and the many other issues that goes with this, including limited VISA's, and the lack of respect using seethru scanners at airports.
I could go further, but people, people who are not in favor of your personal intrest, wants to make more laws? why? Because without law breakers, the state is unable to grant the hiring of more then a million enforcement agencies, and like an armed college police force, can be replaced with unarmed security guards being paid pennies, instead of prime. Their is not enough people breaking laws to hire enough officers. Officers can range from the meter maids, to the feds. Even the military has undercover police, keeping the peace within their ranks, and the prisons as well. Law is a business that is invented by men. Just like how Nintendo remade another GCN and called it the Wiiu, the law is being remolded.

All the FCC has to do, unless I'm mistaken, is just fix their rules so they don't contradict one another.
Anyway, just recently Comcast installed PHAT PIPEZ to Netflix - a company-to-company connection. They are saying that there's no preferential treatment for Netflix traffic, but having a direct line installed is suggestive.

That was a really good video, informative and very funny at the same time. I laughed soooo many times.
I didn't realize what this "Net Neutrality" issue was about before. It is really screwed up and I hope for you Americans that this new anti-net neutrality law will not pass.
