The point is that there isn't anything "conclusive" about any of these media releases - which must be quite deliberate because they know what they plan to release in two months time. If it was an "entirely new game" in the "Bullet Soul" franchise they would be hyping that point. "Followup" still plays with the ambiguity of it being a true sequel vs. another 1.x release of Bullet Soul - so my guess is that the truth is closer towards the 1.x release. Ultimately the "Union Burst system" could change game play entirely. However the "new" system could just as easily break game play entirely.
Caravan Mode is made for players that enjoy score attack mode. Version B is designed for novices.
This clearly sounds like the Aug/Sep 2011 DLC. Why bother throwing this in with a "new game"? It further leads me to believe that additional graphical assets (and different or new stages) will be minimal.
In the best of the (1.x release) scenarios the "Union Burst system" was actually part of the original game concept which got cut in order to meet the original April 2011 release deadline - which lead to the more simplistic (plan B) game play of the original Bullet Soul. However over the past three years the original print run managed to sell out and used copies have basically maintained their original value - so 5pb Games sees an opportunity to sell out another "value-added" and/or "Complete Bullet Soul" print run with the (plan A) "Union Burst system" game play.

Of course at this point this is all conjecture but
Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst is fine tuned for genre fans and new comers.
is an indication that this release will not win you over if you didn't like the first release. At its core it still is a game with easy survival play but somewhat challenging score-play (not necessarily enjoyed by everyone).

Yeah, I get what you mean...

If its any indication and proof, go to the amazon page for the game (regular edition), and there are some screen shots that display a new HUD (unless that's the Union Burst System, with coins, yes...coins), also, there's the sub-boss of Stage 2 that I remember there, and also a another screen for stage 2, so yeah, I'm thinking it might be a re-package (re-print with added content and DLC), but who's to know, guess we'll wait come release. @_@

There is still hope. Anyway 5pb will probably start to say something about the game sooner than later.
The game was enjoyable, at least for me,so I just hope for a propel sequel

The game if you don't know it is an arcade stlye shooter game from 5pb which available only on Xbox 360. The new redesigned Bullet Soul Infinite Burst comes with a new mode the Coalescence Burst mode and a wide range of players!

5pb already announced the OP and the ED details. The opening theme the "Brave the Sky" comes from Kanataros x Zwei and the ending song the "to you" comes from marina! More information about the game coming soon!"

Based on this Senpai Gamer article, it's a "redesigned" Bullet Soul redux or "new edition" with new features.

Considering they're bothering to include the first game with a purchase of the limited edition should indicate that this is a new game, or sufficiently different to the first game. At least you'd hope.

Yep, this kinda confirms its a Update/Semi-Sequel/Etc. to the game, and will have its own Ach. List and such, so yeah, at least now the game is reasonably priced (within either the RE or LE at pre-order), good luck trying to play the 1st one digitally, since because of region/IP stuff for the On Demand version of the 1st game. Of course thought, there's is a thread for that somewhere around here. >_>

Those screenshots of the characters various attacks look straight out of the original game.

I like how the tag line on the main screen is: HEY WORLD!! THIS IS JAPANESE SHOOTING!!

In the staff credits down the bottom there is a guy credited named Jake 'Virt' Kaufman. I looked him up, turns out he's the man who did the soundtrack to Contra 4. So I'm guessing he remixed music for the AST? Dunno.

I get the feeling this burst mode might be similar to hypers in effect, boosting your firepower and raising the multiplier gauge without having to pointblank whilst active. There is also talk of this generating coins of some description, which I'm guessing you suck in en-mass.

Something about a warning to be careful as extra enemies can appear...

Jake 'Virt' Kaufman stuff
He also did the DDP Dai-Fukkatsu Black Label Arrange "KetsuPachi" soundtrack, along with the Mighty Switch Force OST. He's clearly the most talented Westerner making 16-bit-era video game music.

Click on GAMEMODE and then click on BURST MODE to see the new stuff.

Looks like it's basically a bundling of the original game + DLC + New Mode. I'll probably buy it for the new mode if it's region-free. If nothing else, it's pretty.

The timer on the boss is new so maybe there are more changes but it still looks like it should be a $5 add-on for the first game.

Well, they copied this marketing strategy from CAVE… along with source code, bullet patterns, etc...

Black Label confirmed. I wonder how the hyper (infinite burst I suppose) is gonna work.
Anyway it looks great, as far as it is like the other dlc's released to date I am fine.

Yeah, and we'll see almost around the end of next month if its RF, its just a matter of waiting for it now. @_@

Update: Main Page updated with obvious Video, Special has also been added.

For Special, a launch event for the game is set on 3/21/14 from 12-6 PM JST at Akihabara HEY, 5th floor (or something), admission is free, 2 posters of A1 size will be distrbuted free. (http://bit.ly/1mRGV0R) (Yes, its google translate. >_>)

If there had been, somebody would have definitely put it here. IIRC 5pb waited until the last minute to announce the region status (and the presence of tate mode, which I hope they haven't rescinded here) for the original Bullet Soul, so I wouldn't put it past them to keep us in suspense again.

Well, if anything, like I mentioned before, those who are in JP can go to the launch event to try out BS:IB on 3/21, its at the Akihabara HEY, I forgot where in exactly though, but yeah, if anyone's there willing to try it out and also ask the 5pb people to see if it is RF or not.

There's also gonna be another event on 3/29/14 for this game too (at the "Zarius" store in Osaka), but GT on that link I posted before should help, if any.

Went to the event at HEY today with adversity1 and erhune. Some impressions:

The Bad
- I did not play the game despite having four demo kiosks with no one on them right in front of me.
- I did not ask if it was region-free.
- I did watch the superplay/demo where the guy took the game apart but still didn't manage to clear it. I didn't play the first game, but I have heard tale of it's lack of difficulty, and while this one seemed a bit harder, there is a whole lot of bullet canceling going on and not so much bullet dodging.
- The turnout was not so great. The room this was held in was Tokyo-big, which is to say it was pretty small, but you could have lied down on the floor making a snow angel without touching a nerd.

The Good
- SPS played Ketsui for some reason and cleared Ura on his first attempt with 3 misses. Shit was rad.
- One of the cosplaying ladies had a nice midriff.
- This one dude in the front rocking out to the Ketsui music.
- Ebi-tencho is a great color commentator.
- There was a Q&A with a number of notable STG people, which I didn't stick around for.

tldr: Get those pre-orders in!
