Puyo Puyo Fever 2!
Puyo Puyo Fever 2!
Righteous Super Hero / Righteous Love
I found Puyo Puyo 2 to be the best, but I disagree about the original being one of the best. The countering added quite a bit to the series. I also enjoyed the Sun Puyos in Puyo Puyo Sun. Puyo Puyo Fever is not a mess IMO. It is a bit unbalanced, but I found the Fever mode to be a breath of fresh air and very fun. The 3-4 puyos also add a bit more strategy to the mix. The Fever mode also encourages countering over trying to just use combos. With the original Puyo Puyo, if the oppoent sent a huge chain, you would be done for with no way out, but the countering in later games fixed this.zinger wrote:Huh? I thought Puyo Pop Fever was one of the worst sequals ever (compared to how good Puyo Puyo is, atleast). The original Puyo Puyo or Puyo Puyo 2 are still the best in the series, IMO. PPF is a mess, both artistically and gameplay-wise.
As for the art in Puyo Puyo Fever, I rather liked it. It's not the same as the style from the previous games, but it has it's own style. It's wacky, cartoony, and it fits the game, even if it's not the same as the others.

I think puyo puyo 2 is the best too.
I hate the suns in Puyo Puyo sun, though I think it has the best theme, and I would say it was the best in the series if I COULD TURN THE GODDAMN SUNS OFF.
How many, and I mean God, HOW MANY times was I building a big, extreme combo and suddenly a sun falls EXACTLY WHERE I SHOULD PUT THE LAST PUYO TO FINISH THE COMBO... because of this I have to rebuild my whole strategy, and usually the CPU then manages to make a combo WITH the sun and completely fuck up my game.
OOOHHH how I hate that
But Puyo Puyo Sun is the only one I managed to 1cc (With Arle)

I haven't played Puyo Puyo for ages, I was certain that the gameplay was identical to PP2. The sequal is definetly superior then.BrianC wrote:I found Puyo Puyo 2 to be the best, but I disagree about the original being one of the best. I'll jump in front of you if anyone tries to.Dave_K. wrote:Damn I wish this would come out for the DC (please don't hit me!). Puyo Puyo Fever looks fantastic in VGA.

Was Puyo Puyo Fever 2 in the arcade at all? I'm guessing not, but if it had been, I'd guess that it would be on NAOMI, which would make me want a DC release as well (for hardware reasons). However, my guess is that they picked the most popular version of PPF and decided to upgrade only that version for this sequel, which I suppose is PS2. I honestly have no idea, and I think that I mentioned this idea somewhere else, but it still seems to make sense.
In any case, the game does appear to have some nice console-friendly additions, and I'm sure that the gameplay's been tweaked a bit. It probably isn't very different from PPF in general, though.
Edit: Wait a second. I think that I know why you want for it to come to DC...

I'm not sure if Puyo Puyo Fever 2 was in the arcades, but it seems like the PS2 version of PPF was not the only version used for a base engine. The DS PPF2 uses a different engine from the PS2 one, telling from screens.icepick wrote:I'll jump in front of you if anyone tries to.Dave_K. wrote:Damn I wish this would come out for the DC (please don't hit me!).
