I have a feeling "Paperboy: Opposing Force" could have been the working title for this game. What's it 'bout?

Here's a video for you, Ed.

Pretty neat doujin shmup - a nice-looking mixture of Raizing medaling, Progear bullet canceling, Raiden Fighters "quick shot", and all-directional shooting. Not particularly challenging on defaults though, especially if you use the "auto-bomb" option.

Eh, music and animu doesn't bode well. I'll unplug my headphones and look at it again in a bit.

Your headphones don't come off? If the question is gauche, then never mind.

The presentation is definitely there. Doesn't look like the gameplay is.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

I recently snagged a copy off rancor's store. I recall the Shoot the Core blog posting about a big update patch for this game that added new bikez, but the link from Hot Pulse's page is dead.

Does anyone else know of an alternate location where I can get this patch?

(on a similar note, where did Radio Zonde and its Stage 1 graphics fix go? Are doujins disappearing from the web?)

Luckily I've taken on the habit of storing all the patches for the doujin games I personally own. Bike Banditz Patch here!

Thinking about purchasing this from rancor. For now I have downloaded the game.

But ONE QUESTION. How do I get it to run in windowed mode? I can't figure it out. When it's running full screen on my TV there are over scan issues so I would rather run it in a window. Ideas?

It needs to be said that this game's graphics are horrendous, and it doesn't help that the backgrounds are completely static. Look at that gorilla boss that can't do anything but wave one arm. I actually prefer Touhou's wispy voids.

Also, the shot sound effect drills into my brain.

Heh, I disagree. Certainly not the best animation, but I like the bright and colorful graphics.

And if anyone could answer my question about running this game in windowed mode, that'd be great. Thanks.

Is that a language patch or just a nicely done mock-up?

Thanks a lot Kai. You're the best. :D By the way the visuals and the animation of Bike Banditz reminds me Trouble Witches.

I recently discovered this little shmup because of its godly OST. I might get around to it once I'm done with classes.

Actually this was made in conjunction with Raito, a frequent collaborator of French Bread. He's the artist behind the Melty Blood and Under Night In-Birth OSTs. I really dig his style.

Fighting apathy with hyperbole? I don't feel bad for having given an honest impression of the game - it just wasn't what I was looking for at the time. The game looks cute and competent (by console shooter standards) enough, though I am pretty confused by the "godly OST" business. Maybe the first stage they show here (with the incredibly edgy Strider gorilla boss) is sub-par - I should hope so if this is to be considered a top-tier soundtrack. It's okay, but its repetitive loops and unimaginative melody doesn't measure up in any way to the average (or even the below-average) Twinbee series composition.

I don't want to suck the fun out of the discussion, but let's spend some more time talking about the game itself, rather than chastising people for acting a little as a market barometer (in 2010).
