What's next for MOSS/Seibu Kaihatsu?
What do you guys think? Do you think MOSS will continue to develop shmups after the PS3 release of Raiden IV Overkill and Caladrius? Given the current state of shmups in the modern gaming scene, do you think we'll be seeing Raiden V or even a new Raiden Fighters game someday?

Just take a look to what happened to most shooting developpers now a day, they're all gone. And Cave??? Well it looks like they've dropped the ball and will develop mobile phone games with Loli Kitty.Emo Fox Jet Pilot wrote:What do you guys think? This versions are gonna bomb, but not because those two games are bad it is just the genre is dead cause very few people care about it.Good old times are gone and I don't see them making a stunning come back.

If anything has a chance of doing halfway decently it's Caladrius. Moss has stuff on Nessica and All.Net too, so hopefully they keep pushing along for a while. It's not reasonable to expect the games to be mega hits, but I think they could do decently if marketed correctly.
As for the future, we need Raiden V and Cladrius II. I don't feel like they have the right style to make another super fast paced game like Raiden Fighters at this point unfortunately.

I suppose you're right, but Raiden IV felt pretty fast-paced to me.ACSeraph wrote:As for the future, we need Raiden V and Cladrius II. I don't feel like they have the right style to make another super fast paced game like Raiden Fighters at this point unfortunately.

No, not another of those stupidly fast Raiden Fighters..... Unless you're really in the mood to beat them, that pace sucks out all the fun from the games.Emo Fox Jet Pilot wrote:I suppose you're right, but Raiden IV felt pretty fast-paced to me.ACSeraph wrote:As for the future, we need Raiden V and Cladrius II. Give me another proper Raiden and I'll be happy.

In an ideal world, these guys would start getting on PC like treasure by bringing the already existing port of Raiden III on Steam, followed by Raiden IV and/or Caladrius if it did well. More realistically, we will be lucky if we get a sequel to either Raiden or Caladrius.

Bring Raiden III to GOG.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

That would be even better. So, it won't happen. D:MathU wrote:Bring Raiden III to GOG.

Highly unlikely to happen; I thought CyberFront went defunct already?MathU wrote:Bring Raiden III to GOG.
