Enter key doesn't in MAME when trying to launch games

Using ume64 version 152.

Problem began today. I tried deleting the ini files but no cigar. Keyboard works in other applications and I also tried another working keyboard but still nothing.

Any thoughts?

Which enter key? The main enter key or the numpad enter key, or both?

The keybindings for the menu and games are not stored in .ini files in MAME; they are stored in /cfg/default.cfg (and for each individual game that has controls other than the default, in [GAMENAME].cfg). I assume UME works the same way. Worse comes to worse, try reconfiguring it manually: go to Input (General) -> User Interface -> UI Select is the button you need to make sure is bound to Enter.

Neither enter key works.

I tried configuring it manually using the UI version but for some reason it keeps launching Metal Slug 5 when I open it.

It's got to be something to do with this computer. The enter key works fine when launching games from my other computer.

What operating system is ume64 running in? You could try seeing if there's a newer SVN release available if you're just using the most current stable release. Or just try a full uninstall/reinstall as a last resort.

Got it working. I was able to use the mouse to change UI select back to enter. For some reason it was set as one of the controller keys.

If you want to revert a key back to its default value, pressing Delete twice should do nicely as well.
