If 2D isn't your thing, what are your favorite 3D models? Mine...

Just a work of beauty.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

I love all the Guilty Gear sprites, but Eddie's is without a doubt the most impressive.

Valkyrie Profile characters.

Image

Suikoden II characters (the lot). I must admit Suikoden III characters retained some of its charm in 3D.

Wee human characters in Sensible Software games, Walker, Assault Suits Valken, Metal Warriors (one is playable!), Jets'n'Guns, Gunstar Heroes (one is a boss!), Cave Story...

Sweet Home on the NES has some fantastically disgusting monsters, but this scene makes it the goriest NES game ever (as far as I know!).

My favorite in Hard Corps is the two-sphere robot with the waggling arms. The thing is so goofy and has so much personality, wiggling its arms and throwing itself all over the screen. I completely lose my shit every time I see it.

I just tried making a few dedicated boss gifs, and holy crap it's way too big a project to approach casually if they're to be done justice. Total bouncing, flailing multi-sprite madness. Something for a rainy day.

Regarding Splatterhouse 3: it's a random event! There are a few things in the game like this if I recall, but the boreworm laugh on pause / unpause is one of them.

And yeah, Hard Corps is completely nuts. You can really feel how much fun the devs had making the bosses as ridiculous as possible.

It still amazes me that the character models in Silent Hill 3 were possible on the PS2: http://youtu.be/JeP9vA2I1BA?t=2m24s

Cool. I knew I probably wasn't crazy. ^_~

A complete set of accurate HC boss and enemy gifs would be so cool. So many awesomes. Maybe that'll be my bonsai tree.

This is really hard to answer. It's even harder to find pics, or animated pics.

Symphony Of The Night, and the Metal Slug games(1-3) are coming to mind.

I love this sprite, as it makes horrible death seem pretty funny. It's probably one of my all time favorite sprites. I don't know what that says about me.
The Allan O'Neil sprite(where he's laughing and shooting) is a favorite, but I can't find any gifs.

Image

For just cool designs, you gotta hand it to Rad Spencer. I mean, he's 8 bit and still looks good.

Image

Sexy Parodius has some sexy and funny sprites. I couldn't find any good pics of Tanuko, unfortunately.

Image

As for 3D..who doesn't love a mullet?

Image just one of my favorites.
