I'm hyped for the next Smash Bros as I'm sure a lot of people are (Villager :3), so here's an obvious topic about who'd you love or hate to see in Super Smash Bros for Wii U & 3DS.

It can be any veteran or newcomer that you think should or should not be in it.

I never really followed the Smash Bros. franchise. Is Alex Kidd already in? If not, the needs to be, with that giant fist of his.

Hey now Jigglypuff was best character in Melee and I'll hear nothing to the contrary.

The one character I've said for forever would be absolutely perfect for Smash Bros is Viewtiful Joe.

And since Toon Link is a thing, I wouldn't mind a Toon Zelda who'd transform into Tetra.

Jigglypuff's fine by me, as long as they properly balance her out with the sleep attack and rollout.

The five characters I'd always want were Crash Bandicoot, Villager, Balloon Fighter, Bubbles and a third generation Pokemon trainer of some sort or just Blaziken, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was when the Villager appeared on stage in the trailer. I even knew he was already in at the beginning of the trailer, and I still flipped my shit :3
Crash Bandicoot is probably even more unlikely at this point, and I can only imagine if he was in now that people would be pissed at the choice, 'cause Activision is just sitting on the property and can't even be asked to make some bad games of Crash (mixed blessing, I know). Any kind of Pokemon trainer would be awesome, the possibilities are endless. And the third generation in particular needs some love for Smash Bros (they nearly added Plusle & Minum in Brawl). I don't know if they're still bothering to put obscure NES representatives, but Ice Climbers were successful enough, and the Villager seems to be adopting an NES-character like moveset (like the Balloon Fighter jump).

Characters I want:
Shantae would be a good fit if she remained entirely Nintendo-exclusive.
What would the #1 choice for a second Sonic character?
Simon Belmont, because Castlevania.

Characters I don't want (personal opinions):
Geno appeared in like, one game as a sidecharacter from 18 years ago that wasn't released worldwide, a single cameo in another game and isn't the most worthwhile 3rd-party character, you guys.
I personally don't think the Star Fox franchise deserves more characters until it fixes its clones problem.
My brother thinks Captain Falcon and Snake shouldn't be in the next one, as they currently have no upcoming games or none for a Nintendo console. Likewise, how's the current state of the Earthbound franchise?
I've heard Isabelle as mostly an ironic choice, but I'd still prefer, if we are lucky enough to be blessed with a second AC character (not that I'm complaining :3), it should be someone like Tom Nook, K.K. Slider or Resetii. The last one especially, as he's practically hinting the possibility in Brawl:

Just look at him, he's begging for it!

Nintendo's not doing DLC characters for this game, right?

Come to think of it, what last-gen characters did you find outstanding? I haven't played many games of that period, but other than Roll and Ghost Squad chaps, only Rosalina and Deadly Premonition guy come to mind. To be fair, I don't think characters are videogames' selling point yet. What superstars are there other than Lara and Mario?

Considering how much I enjoyed Fever on the Wii I'd like to see this, though it's tough to think who/what from there might make a halfway-decent standalone character...off the cuff Rhythm Heaven seems to fit better into assist trophy territory.

As for removals, personally I'd just like to see most of the clones removed or fleshed out into more unique characters, play-wise - "padded fighting game rosters" could probably be my next post in the "Little Things" thread.

Don't know about the gameplay nuances, but in Tatasunoko vs Capcom Roll at least looks different from her appearance in Marvel (where she looked like her "brother" recoloured).

Oh yeah, I can't see why clones didn't come to mind for me when thinking about removing characters.
The Karate character, whatever his name is, was one of the characters for the recent Smash Bros 4 fan poll, but didn't make it as the character who had won. Incidentally, that winner (Skull Kid) was one character I personally didn't care for, especially since it was in place of many other awesome possible candidates, so I was quite cynically happy when it was announced that he was just an assist trophy.

I'm disappointed that they kept lucario. I was hoping they'd replace him with a new character like he replaced mewtwo. wtf nintendo. Also wii fit trainer wtf. Just because nobody expects a character doesn't make it a good idea.

I'd really love if Giegue made it in.
A character from kirby with connections to Zero. Be it Dark Matter, Zero, Zero two, Drawcia, or someone else. Although I'm sorta expecting that they'll add Margalor instead.

A cooler, story-ier, storymode complete with voices (or text bubbles at least) and a final boss with an actual backstory.

Snake: he doesn't really fit the theme very well but I suppose I don't mind.
pretty much all of the 3rd party characters that Emo Fox Jet Pilot listed.
Viewtiful Joe: I hate that fucker. I don't know why but he annoys the crap outta me.
Some stupid insignificant character that nobody cares about.
Another starfox character. They'd just have the same moves.
I can see them adding someone from Just Dance or whatever.

You realize neither Ness nor Lucas learn PK Fire, Freeze, Thunder or Starstorm in the games they're in? Also, why the fuck would Poo matter, Kumatora in M3 has Starstorm (not to mention all the elemental ones), if Ness supposedly learned it from Poo, Lucas coulda learned it from her.

I wouldn't know, I haven't played that one. All I know is that smash bros uses "Poo taught it to them" as an excuse for why they learned it. Also Ness and Lucas don't have psi rockin (or whatever the M3 equivalent is called) anywhere in their movesets. Kinda weird that they don't have their signature moves, isn't it? Also, psi flash isn't supposed to do damage.

Still though, I'd really enjoy if they put Giegue in. I can see them putting in somebody else from that game, but Giegue would make the most sense, as he's the main villain of the entire series. (well, he's more of an indirect villain of M3 but whatever) Maybe give him a Giygas final smash?
