Question about using an SNES cable with NESRGB

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I'm getting ready to buy a cable for my NES 101, which is about to be NESRGB modded.

I am getting the SNES multi out installed.

OK, I had a LOT of problems with feedback and whatnot with my SNES mini, and anything other than an official SNES RGB cable.

Will the NES have any of these types of problems, with the SNES multi out? Or is that just something with the SNES?

Not sure if I understand exactly, but I'm using the SNES SCART cable from retro_console_accessories with my AV Famicom and I haven't noticed any issue. There are three capacitors (for R, G, and B) on the NESRGB board that should be removed if you want to use said cable as it comes, which is ideal since that way you can easily use the same cable for both the SNES and the NES.

To explain myself a bit better....

The SNES is notorious for buzzing through SCART, if the cable isn't shielded EXTREMELY well. The SNES mini, in my experience, is even worse.

So, I was just wondering if it was important if I got a really well shielded cable for my NES, or if it was more of an SNES problem. Even though I'm using the SNES
multi-out, I don't know if that would have any affect on the buzzing from a poorly shielded cable.

And you're using Retro Console Accessories cables...they're well shielded. But she's out of stock on SNES cords. And I'm getting my NES RGB modded next week. Oh well.
