Thanks for the info. Hearing you say that really cheers me up about this game again. Plus ended up watching more of that vid since I was keeping it as background noise, and seen the last mode (Shin mode?) + another ship that don't recharge ninja mode as fast. And in that playthrough he was the vast mojority of the game in ship mode, and very rarely touching ninja mode.

And about the volume; well yeah, I obviously don't want it drowing out the awesome commentary, but the way it seems is like you don't hear the game at all? And I do have the overall volume fairly loud enough. Anymore and it would be annoyingly loud.

If you do the Pink Sweets one, I'd recommend the arcade one as it's a lot tougher than the arrange. Don't know if there's a good replay to use though.

RFA has a score attack mode for RFJ and maybe the others(not sure if the PCB had these or not), but I don't know if there's good replays.

Obligatory Recca suggestion.

There's a PS 1.00 Score Attack replay from myself up at the 360 leaderboards. It's still #1 there (not counting 1.01 scores) iirc.

Really enjoyable episode, even if the games are not much to talk about and are quite similar it was nice to see Caravan getting some love.
And also an episode where you show a dancing Bomberman isnt bad either. Keep them episode coming, you doing an awesome job :)

Time constraints and all. Will have to save it for the official Pink Sweets episode, probably.

The only shooters I like so far are Kamui, Jamestown, and Crimzon Clover. You already did Kamui and Jamestown isn't elite enough. That leaves CC.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I would definitely be down for a Crimzon Clover episode. Fantastic game.

Jamestown could easily have an episode here. Nobody here seems to have anything against it, and it seems to be pretty well regarded. I personally think the bullet patterns are a tad bland, but it's still a very good game and worth playing.

Jamestown would be best if it were done with a multiplayer run. Solo runs do tend to look a tad bland.

I have a request for a guest. I'd like to hear from Iconoclast. His youtube channel and high scores are inspiring. Also, an Espgaluda II espisode with the return of Medal and Gus would be awesome. I like Gus's "full shmup" style, and Medal helps keep the commentary going.

Got something on my mind since you first started this awesome series:

I am still hoping for an episode about a COMPILE offering since they left their mark in STG history.
Yes, they have no arcade style shmups but nevertheless they are legendary force from the past.
Maybe some high level - high difficulty setting play of Zanac (Neo), Super Aleste, Gunhed, Musha Aleste or.....
Anyway, that would be highly appreciated.

Man, that's a good one, one of my favorite shmups. I should get back into playing that one up again. I agree with a lot of you guys: a Giga Wing series, an Esp series (Rade, I and II) and a Compile themed episode would be a fun watch.

Other good candidates:

Gunbird series
Border Down
R-Type I & II

Maybe some MD shmups like Eliminate Down, Greylancer, stuff like that.

Looking for commentators for a Crimzon Clover episode. SFKhoa is already on board, and I'm asking Softdrink. Did anyone else particularly want to talk about it? Potentially planning it for this upcoming Sunday (9th).

I'd enjoy an ESP episode. I'd be able to comment on ESP Ra.De. too, and ESPGaluda PS2 Arrange if that is going to be done.

Main concern in my eyes is that doing 3+ games would make quite a long episode probably. Maybe do each game separately, it's not like anyone's running out of weeks ;)
STG wrote:a Compile themed episode
I'd honestly enjoy it too, but I don't think pretty much any of the games are short enough to not make the episode like 3 hours long, let alone doing more than one game. If someone can figure out how to make this work, I'd love to watch it though.

Some Toaplan love would also be great. Truxton, V-Five, Batsuugan, etc.

Speaking of Toaplan, I would like to see a Hellfire episode with DEL!

Awesome job on the Akai Katana and Caravan episodes! I had many laughs while watching them and I learned a lot too. I think that you guys have found an excellent balance between being informative yet at the same time entertaining to watch.

That's very true, and I totally forgot about the arrange modes for the ports. One ep per each game and I'd be watching!

Gotta think about Compile as I do see your point. Hmm!

I should play Esp Ra De again, it's a cool game.

Would love to see an ESP series episode, or a set of episodes. I'm not very good at any of the games myself, but they're always fun to play. An episode demystifying the scoring (particularly for II) would be wonderful. :D

I thought I posted this here before, but maybe it was just in IRC. Could do an episode on push-scrollers, I'd love to chat about FixEight and OutZone with some Toaplan heads 8)
