Mushihime Sama ver. Question

Post by tzakiel »

I am new to the game (not futari, just plain MS) and just looking to learn it now, should I play 1.0 or 1.5 which was released years later in 2011? I see some differences on wikipedia but not sure if it's better for beginners or worse.

If you want the easiest version it's the normal "Original" mode on Matsuri Ver.1.5 but I'm not convinced that starting with the easiest version is the best way to get good at a game. The opposite seems to be true, for example if you play the Max modes for a week first and then go to the originals, you will absolutely murder them.

I guess I'm wondering if one is so good it would be silly to play the other. Or are they just about the same?

The normal modes on the Matsuri 1.5 are similar to the original game but are easier and have other tweaks. I don't think it cancels out the original game like that but maybe for some people. The Max modes are completely different and are more like a black label. If you want to get the most out of the game(s) I would probably play the original game then the normals on Matsuri 1.5 then the Max modes, though if you want to start with a piss easy basic clear then Matsuri 1.5 normal Original is it. The Max modes do in a way blow everything else out of the water but you'd be missing out if you just skip the rest. It would be like jumping into a black label before enjoying the original, so when you play the original it feels watered down, you'd just be hurting yourself.

I agree on this.
I did it a few days ago after practically a year of not playing Mushi at all.

Always start with the standard mode/version of a game (though DFK 1.5 and Futari 1.5 is considered standard), then move on to black labels, arrange modes etc. Mushi 1.5 was sorta a weird exception because it came out so much later after the original release.

Nothing is ever "better" it all comes down to preference. I mean, some people actually eat taco bell if you can believe that.
