Hello guys,
I have been trying to find some info, but honestly I can find the differences between the Irem PCB and the console ports
Are there any between the arcade game and the console game? (gameplay, slowdown, scoring, etc)
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

The Arcade Gears version has imperfect sound emulation (missing sound effects) and the bottom half of the status bar is cropped off due to the change in resolution.
It does however have built-in autofire and a stage select.

So, apart from that, the game is exactly the same?Pretas wrote:The Arcade Gears version has imperfect sound emulation (missing sound effects) and the bottom half of the status bar is cropped off due to the change in resolution.

In order to get the PCB or keep the AG one...

From my understanding many Saturn ports did receive special treatments, but also had censoring issues. The same could be said about region differences.
If your really into it, get the PCB, and go hardcore setup, otherwise stick to the console port.
The arcade is the original, anything on a console is just a port. A port is a port no matter which way you turn it around, it is still a port.
Do you enjoy the game so much you want to deal with a PCB?

Re: X-MULTIPLY differences (PCB vs. Arcade Gears)
When console hardware is basically the same as arcade PCB (only ROM is stored on different media), that's hardly a port (see ST-V shmups on Saturn). When the game's emulated on console, that's not a port either. Neither is likely to be the case with X-Multiply on Saturn, both deserve to be said now and then.

That status bar also obscures part of the play area if you don't drop it off the bottom of the screen by pressing R1, at least in the Playstation version.Pretas wrote: the bottom half of the status bar is cropped off due to the change in resolution.
