Vita recommendations Thread

Post by Laurel_McFang »

Sadly I am now on the u.s. Psn store and not the Asian (remember seeing Darius on the Asian store)
What shmups do you recommend from psp, minis, ps one, and ps vita etc.
Let me know. The American store is showing like maybe 20 games with 5 of those being metal slug.

The Gradius Collection is pretty much the only PSP shmup on the NA store Might as well just use your asian account on the Vita if you wanna play the Parodius/Twinbee/Salamander collections or some of the DonPachi or Thunderforce games that are on PSN as PS One classics.

I got Gradius Collection as a download on PSP but as far as I can tell, it's not transferrable to Vita. Capcom Classic Collections are in a similar situation.
I also got Dodonpachi, but playing that game on a small screen is nigh impossible...
The only Vita-compatible shmups I've enjoyed playing on the system are Gunbird (which is called "Mobile Light Force" and isn't the same as the arcade version) and Flying Hamster. But I've only really looked on the US store so...

Unfortunately switching accounts (and funding a Thai account sans Thai credit card) is much harder on the vita than the ps3. The Gradius collection isn't available. Sucks would have loved that Salamander collection.

There is an aksys published Japanese shmupm with muscle men, and a few Hudson soft star soldier related ones.

By genre:
Alien Breed
Alpha Mission 2
Big sky infinity
Cho aniki zero (muscle man shmup)
Earth defense force 2017
Die!die!die!
Everyday shooter
Floating cloud god saves the pilgrims?
Gravity crash
Jet pack joyride
Metal slug psp releases
Mobile light force (recommended)
Neo geo heroes
No gravity
Nuclear strike
One
Reloaded
Shock troopers
Sine mora (already best it)
Solider blade (Hudson)
Strikers 1945
Super star soldier
Super stardust delta
Table,top tanks
Total recoil
Velocity ultra

The Asian stores have a lot more ps one and psp classics. Do take a look, but switching accounts on the vita wipes all your data so be careful.
