I fell asleep halfway through the credit and when I woke up I had somehow almost 4-ALL'd.

Eaglet - 321,660 - Area 60
First real credit.
Feels like a pretty fun game even though it has a lot of design choices i absolutely abhor.
Snail-like movement speed, super low amount of shots allowed to be fired on screen, enemies appearing from behind and sniper tanks.
At least you get a fuckton of resources.

I forgot how boring this game was...
sweep left, sweep right, sweep left, sweep right, sweep left...
(-_-) zzz
OH FUCK DODGE! Σ(゜ロ゜;)
Phew we made it... sweep left, sweep right, sweep left, sweep right...
Kinda reminds me of Futari Black Label Original actually

Never played this one, up to today. Gotta like the early Toaplan style, this game reminds me a lot of Kyuukyoku Tiger.
But damn, comebacks after a death can be very tricky and demoralizing. Because it takes ages to power up your main weapon, deaths mid-game have a very tough penalty.

goodness, still garbage at this game
hishouzame's actually fairly balanced, bit of a shame toaplan wasn't forward-thinking enough to finish the job and make the basic power level something you could use for the whole game. i'm also not fond of them shunning stage 1 like that... it's not more boring than any other stage, and if it is it's their fault obviously.
but yeah, acseraph kinda sorta outlines a good point... i like how people call games like this "boring" when they do the same shit in all of their favorite-er-est games ever

on the other hand, the rank gets torn to pieces whenever you die. stage 5 is still brutal, though.Edge wrote:But damn, comebacks after a death can be very tricky and demoralizing. Because it takes ages to power up your main weapon, deaths mid-game have a very tough penalty.

The last stage without a decent shot is just brutal.
This game suffers more from the Gradius syndrome than Gradius itself.
It is stil a fun game though.
EDIT:
Forgot to add the screenshot:

Yeah, I feel the rank is pretty nicely balanced in this one. But damn, getting your standard pea shooter after a death is so frustrating. Making comebacks later in the game very tricky. It's doable once you know the checkpoint and if you make use of your bombs. Still the penalty will last for the next few checkpoints you reach, because powering up again takes quite a while.Despatche wrote:on the other hand, the rank gets torn to pieces whenever you die. stage 5 is still brutal, though.

Small improvement today. But still no looping for me. Getting better at recovering from checkpoints though.
