I have a few questions about Raiden's backstory
I've been wondering, how exactly does the fairy fit into the military settings of the Raiden universe? Is there anything in the official backstory that explains the existence of a fantasy creature in a game series with heavy military themes? I mean, don't you find it a bit out of place to see a fairy helping out a bunch of military pilots? The Miclus, I understand, being Seibu Kaihatsu's mascot, but the fairy has got me thinking: Why? And what's the deal with Raiden III's ending? Was the fairy actually the Raiden jet all along? Also, why does it show the crashed original Raiden jet from Raiden 1 on the ground where the Fighting Thunder ME-02 is going to land? I've seen that same location in Raiden 1, right before the 1st boss, you can see a crashed Raiden jet in the dirt nearby.

Well you see, violence breeds violence, but in the end it has to be this way.
Oh, we're in the shmups section. Well, fairies are well known for their strong military ties. Don't ask don't tell!

Well, the bad guys have some sort of evil sentient gem on their side, so the forces of good need their own oddly-inserted fantasy element to keep things even.

The element is the good which resides inside every person.
