VGA to TV converters....LAG ?????

Do VGA to TV ( composite/S-Video/Component ) converter boxes add video LAG ???

What do the converter boxes do to convert VGA to TV signals ??

I want to play my PC and emulators on my TV but worried about input LAG from the conversion process .

Any advice guys ??

Theres a setup I figured out , that would give perfect video and no lag , but it would be rather pricey . I wonder if theres a cheaper but still good converter box out there .

I could go this route :

PC - ArcadeVGA video card (15khz output ) - Jpac - Jrok RGB to NTSC encoder ........which would then give me RGB , composite , S-Video and Component .

But that setup would be rather pricey , I'm thinking around $260 .

Neither an ArcadeVGA nor a JPAC should be necessary. Soft15KHz should be able to get you 15KHz output from most any video card. The JROK NTSC encoder -might- need you to run your VGA signal through an amplifier first though, but IIRC the JROK has pots that control the resistance on the input RGB signals that you could probably lower to the point that even that wouldn't be necessary.

If your TV can do 480p or better via component however, that's trivial; get an HDFury and you have component transcoding from any HD source.

I've saw many different models , like the "Extron Emotia Jr Pipeline Internet Surfer"........

Pretty much I can't go wrong with any Emotia product ??

I read that on windows bootup , when using soft15KHz , it could damage my TV because when windows boots up its not 15KHz , and using a Jpac can prevent this ??

Your TV is not an arcade monitor. I'd be more worried about the JROK than the TV in the proposed scenario but buying a JPAC just for that is kind of overkill.
