Not sure if this has been announced, but Gradius 4 is now playable in Mame as of version .102.

...For a certain definition of "playable". It slows down to a crawl on a top-of-the-line PC as soon as any 3d graphics are onscreen (meaning, basically, anything other than the open space at the start of a level)

*shrug* Just another game, like the Cruisin' series, that needs technology to catch up with it. ST-V, I'm looking at you.

We'll be needing supercomputers to emulate today's stuff .

I wish someone could make optimized emulators for those games that are too slow in mame. Mame is slow because it aims for full accuracy, so they don't do "hacks" or "shortcuts" in the emulation.

It am not complaining about Mame (I know what is their goals)... I am actually not complaining about anything, I just wish I could play certain games (Like Gradius 4)

Well... anyway I am grateful for what I have :)

With 102.1 sound was added, but for goodness sake the speed is like driving the Vic Viper through mud, stick with the PS 2 version if you have it, this game still has a way to go.

Well at least I know it's not my PC that's the only one running this game slow, looks like I have company.
