Hey all, this is my first post here and my lil' introduction, wasn't entirely sure where to put it but I figured it was acceptable here. You can call me Yoyo or Mikey, I don't really mind or care which. I've been playing shmups since I was a tiny little kid, one of the first I ever experienced was Dragon Spirit, I thank that game for guiding me into the wonderful world of this fantastic genre. Some of my favorites include:
-DoDonPachi
-Dragon Spirit/Saber
-Salamander
-Parodius (any)
-Pop N' Twinbee
-Gradius II
-Axelay (First time I ever played it my eyes about popped out of my head)
-R-Type
Tons more, I don't wanna spam my post with game titles haha. Nice to be here.

I sse you like a lof of the classic shmups. The Gradius, Parodus and R-Type games are also shmups I tend to come back to. They never get old.
Oh, I remember when Axelay was released. I saw it running on a TV in the video game store and the graphics were just incredible. I was just staring at the screen and watching the CPU play the same stages over and over. And I wanted to play it so badly. Good memories.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, greatly appreciated

Sadly I was really late to the Axelay party (I was pretty young when the SNES had its reign) and didn't discover it until I was around 10 or 11, that'd be back in 2000-2001. Very happy I stumbled upon it regardless. Glad to hear you like some of those picks too! You're certainly right, they do never get old.
