Someone in my area keeps listing these and their 17" brethren on Craig's.
Other than JVC's specs page, I can't find out much about them. But they may be exactly what I'm looking for: a 4:3 professional LCD monitor with almost zero lag, a small footprint, and that I can natively hook older consoles up to. Something that will display a decent yesteryear image.
I'm in a small place and PVM/BVM isn't an option. Not even enough room for smaller consumer grade CRTs.
Any impressions or experience with these? Any information or even recommendations for a display that meets my above criteria is appreciated!

I wouldn't expect a low input lag just because it's a non consumer monitor

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

I'm crossing my fingers that someone may have lag tested it and they can provide the results.ryu wrote:I wouldn't expect a low input lag just because it's a non consumer monitor

I don't see any point in getting a display like that. If you need a space-saving setup, get a nice lag-free 23 or 24" LCD along with a XRGB unit. I don't have hands-on experience with that JVC, but I had other "pro" LCDs from that era, including a Sony. And btw: that display isn't 4:3, but it's 5:4 - and so are all 17 and 19" LCD monitors.

Whoever said that commercial or pro displays have less lag is spouting nonsense,
and I suggest you test any display you're interested in yourself (e.g. using a lag tester) before being suckered.
At one time I purchased a commercial signage LCD from NEC with the hope that the input lag would be lower;
alas, the input lag was near 80ms and it was completely unusable for gaming. Also it had a bad pixel in the center of the screen.
I returned it, but not after fighting with the seller a bit (eventually ebay buyer protection ruled in my favor).
