Good to know it's finally getting a proper North American release. Hats off to Monkeypaw, and whoever at SCEA authorized this. I salute you.

It's a fun game from DECO, and I'm glad that more gamers have a chance to play it.

I don't think it's one of those "I MUST 1CC!!!" titles, in terms of game design, but it is fun to jump around as a mech and shoot various robo-baddies set to some pretty good music.

I forget what people say whenever these PSX/Saturn era ports come up. Does it have any features (good or bad) compared with the arcade release making it a better candidate for a "comprehensive" release than just the arcade version?

The Saturn (and PSX) port has a boss rush mode, original soundtrack and new (not arranged) soundtrack, and a "story" mode that adds voice acting (not really worth it), and keeps the branching paths that were taken out of the US arcade release.

If the details (color, frames, resolution) and framerate are the same (or better) then that would make those versions (or at least one of them!) the definitive version, indeed! Do you know if that is the case?

The PS1 version is missing a few graphical details (eg: the treads on the monster desert crawler you board for a boss battle* don't animate), and the screen is slightly cropped at the very bottom. Seems like a great conversion otherwise, though.
